I would say Go back and stay again!

    by

I gave my feedback at tripadvisor:
The first impression was not too good when first arrived (but we reached very late, about 10plus at night). So maybe were too tired too.

After 4 nights of stay, I conclude that this is not a bad hotel, given the tranquility of the place, the staff services and the look and feel. There are some nahs, but overall I don't mind returning :-)

It was peak period but I was still checking out the hotels in ubud so I could not confirm the reservation immediately and since there was no follow up email response from hotel, I called and was shocked that the last room they have for us has been taken by someone else! In the end, we have to stay 2 nights on 2nd floor, and then 2 nights on ground floor as we do not wish to pay more to stay at deluxe room. Quite a hassle as we have to unpack, pack, unpack. The ground floor is more charming as you get a nicer porch where you can sit and enjoy a Bintang beer!

We stayed at the superior room, there are 3 of us but when we arrived they forgot our 3rd bed, 3rd towels etc (remember we arrived late and tired already). 2nd floor we stayed has only one double bed (nice one! like a princess bed), the ground floor has 2 double bed + one single bed (for our extra bed paid). The standard rooms are facing the padi fields, the superior rooms are nearer to reception, and deluxe are right at the end and near the spa area. (however we were told the size is about the same for deluxe and superior, and perhaps superior might be bigger!)

Bring your own shaver, toothbrush and paste as they are not provided. They put the shampoo, hair conditioner and shower foam in little clay containers - so kind of not enough for us. There is no hot water container in the room (we did not ask for it too). The shower water flow is not that large so just a bit of patience will make your shower time a happy one.

Note also that the website indicated US$25 for airport pickup, but it is actually US$30 when I booked it (it has been corrected, I'd checked). On return to airport, we took transport from outside agent as it is cheaper.

The breakfast spread was surprisingly great and generous! You will be asked for tea or coffee, (and they give a pot!) and also freshly squeezed juices (and we also found out it is not limited to 1 glass, how nice!). the selection is local and international -- sunny side up eggs, fried eggs, bread, croissant, cheese sandwiches, fruits (local), cereals, fried noodles, fried rice, local desserts etc. The food is almost the same daily with some variations to local fruits, desserts. So if you stay too long, you might be tired of it - but isn't it the same everywhere ?

If you stay on the ground floor, watch out for the lock of the door. It is traditional Balinese door, nicely decorated but bad design as if you locked outside, a little push and you can see inside the room, we gather a small child could get inside. so don't leave your valuables inside, or at least not near the door where it can be seen or picked (just in case, though it seems like a very safe place).

ON the 2nd floor, it was facing the green and streets and so we were disturbed nightly by the music that plays throughout till as late as 2am. The rooster also wakes you up very early. It was not as bad on ground floor as it faces the swimming pool.

There are 2 swings facing the pool (2 pools) and it was breezy and enjoyable sitting there.

Unique Quality: The place is big! I enjoyed the breakfast and we all missed the coffee (bali coffee) provided by the hotel at breakfast time, and the freshly squeezed juices.

It is such a nice hotel that you can even just stay in the hotel premises, sit by the pool and will find enjoyment! If you can't afford (physically) to go out and walk to see the padi (rice) field, you can view it at the hotel, just that it is not that great.

Directions: Ubud is a small place - won't miss it.
