Lovely stay amongst the rice paddies

    by

Our recent stay of 5 days in Ubud was enhanced by the surroundings, facilities and professional staff at the Komaneka Bisma. Situated on a stunning hillside overlooking the rustic charm of central Bali rice paddies, the Hotel offered contemporary luxury and comfort. At the same time its location created a sense of isolation and tranquility whilst but a short distance from central Ubud. Our suite was beautifully equipped and the service a delight.
We would gladly recommend this Hotel to those travelers wishing first rate comfort and service whilst seeking a peaceful location in Ubud.

    A recent discovery

    by

    My Mom recently visited Bali,
    and we decided to spend
a couple of days in Ubud.

I'm usually happy when it comes
    to selecting something 'charming',
but Mom likes places with a bit more of comfort.

So she did her research and found Komaneka.

At the time of our selection,
    theyhad properties in 3 locations.
    1) Komaneka Bisma
    2) Komaneka Tanggayuda
    3) Komaneka Monkey Forest Road

If you wan to be in the middle of it all,
then the oneat Monkey Forest Road,
is the one that you should consider.

    Since we had a car,
    we decided on Komaneka Tanggayuda.

    The property was absolutely beautiful!!

And the room was like a mini-villa
and we had our own mini-swiming pool
with a view of the lushy green.

There was plenty of ample space,
    large semi-outdoor bathroom,
with the choice of a shower or a bathtub,
    plenty of closet space,
    safe, wireless interenet,
a bale where one could enjoy
their breakfast while overviewing the lushy green, etc.

Definately a place to recomment if within your budget.
Mom got a great rate via AsiaRooms.com

    It's also a fabulous place,
if you are on a romantic trip!!!

Unique Quality: The service was impeccable.
    They offer free yoga classes.
Have a shuttle that goes into town.
Have spa services on the property.

This is a hotel you can only dream of, this is how moviestars and celebritys lives. The nice people of Padma hotel sent us here for two days because we were honeymooners free of charge, when we sat in the bus that was driving us to the hotel we were thinking were are we going? It is jungle everywere, just trees and old houses and "poor" people. In the middle of this "jungle" we se a big gatedoor and we vere in paradise...

In the middle of nowere lies a luxury Resort.

Unique Quality: This is the place for couples in love, a quiet place with your own personal pool a king size bed outside by the pool. Room service.

Exceptional Service in Paradise

by TripAdvisor Member VLRLondon

The Komaneka Bisma is in my list of top 5 hotels across the world. The location and suites are stellar as are the facilities. Extras like apple tv sweeten your stay. A special mention about the pool - one has to swim in in to believe it. The illusion that you are going to drop off into the forest valley below is exhilarating.

The staff was exceptionally helpful and greeted us by name each time. They were helpful without being intrusive and assisted us with our travel arrangements and shuttles into Ubud town centre. On the whole, a delightful place to stay!

The ultimate hotel in Ubud

by TripAdvisor Member Orang_Perancis

My wife and I stayed five nights at Komaneka Bisma at the end of June and we wish we were still there. Charm, grace and generosity are the words most befitting this beautiful hotel, located a mere ten-minute walk from the very centre of Ubud. Definitely our best experience of hotel accommodation there, if not elsewhere. Built one year ago in an incomparable setting that takes your breath away by its beauty, the building stands in a landscape of jungle and terraced rice fields. The landscaping is striking, with a 35-metre long green water infinity pool which merges into the ocean of jungle and rice fields. The interior of the hotel is just as magnificent. Works of art gathered by the owners, a family of famous Balinese art collectors and mecenes (Neka Museum, Komaneka Galery), are displayed on every floor. The suites are large and perfectly designed. The beautiful marble bathroom has a big bathtub, spacious shower, double wash basin and a separate toilet. The long wide terrace invites relaxation and contemplation of the rice fields. Every detail has been thought out and the comfort is total. In the evening the rice fields are lit by chinese lanterns which seem to float in the night : magical !
An important asset of this hotel is the warmth and friendliness of the entire staff, who are always ready to do their best to help you, but never intrusive. Transport is available to drop you off and pick you up anywhere in Ubud. A very welcome service after a hectic day’s shopping. The delicious complementry afternoon tea, which can also be taken in the sister hotel in the centre of Ubud, is always appreciated. The hotel is equipped with a gym, overlooking the swimming pool and a spa.
Altogether, an unforgetable journey in a place which captures all the magic and subtle charm of Ubud.

Luxury, beauty and style

Our family of 4 (12 & 15 year old children) recently visited the Komaneka on Jl Bisma. Budiarta the manager was delighted to show us around this truely spectacular place. The rooms are exquisitely designed with a view over the grounds and lush jungle is unbeatable. The hotel is located off a quiet road in Ubud and the only sounds to be heard are that of the river. The relaxed and friendly nature of the staff was strongly felt by our family. The mixture of modern and antique art and furniture was very effective. Now, the spa. True beauty. The spa is located overlooking the river. The view while having a pedicure is resorative in itself. There is a very modern glass wedding chapel tucked in between the lush greenery, that also overlooks the river.

Komaneka at Bisma is One of best hotels I have ever stayed at. Great value

Simply Amazing

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment you arrive you know it is a special place. The hotel itself is just beautiful. The photos really dont do it justice. We had a suite which I think I would have preferred over the pool villas for the views alone. The views from our terrace were stunning. But all of that aside, what really stands out is the service. At first it almost seems like it is too much, especially for someone like me who is used to more self service approach, but as the days go on, it feels more normal and you find yourself changing as well. It is hard to explain, but even though I consider myself to be a polite person, I feel like the people at Bisma take it to another level. They are proactive in anticipating your needs and their offers to help are designed to help you have a better experience. I feel that is very much an aspect of Balinese culture as well. You come away a better person.

We did have a slight problem during our stay which was resolved. We felt bad about even mentioning it to the staff because everyone was so nice! We did not want to say anything but in the end we felt like we should bring it to their attention. Action was taken even more than we expected but again, I felt bad even mentioning that something wasnt perfect because I know it was completely unintended! I think that if you have a problem there - which I doubt you will anyway - it is best to just go straight to the management because you may find that you feel as we did - you do not want to risk hurting the feelings of the staff because they are so kind. I think the managers are more used to dealing with it.

So back to the review - you must stay here and go to Bali! You will love it.

A few practical tips:
- You can walk to Ubud main street from hotel, but the weather can be hot so make sure to have water and a hat
- If visiting Ubud shopping areas, you can pick up shuttle back to the Bisma from the Monkey Forest location
- We utilized hotel for airport transfers and some tours. We had the same driver for our transfer and tours, he was very special
- The hotel restaurant is excellent. We also took advantage of the afternoon tea and enjoyed it very much

This hotel is just perfect. Stay here!

Amazing Hotel - Can't wait to return!

by TripAdvisor Member MJL01

We had stayed at Komaneka Monkey Forest 11 years ago (just after it had opened) and were so impressed that on our return visit to Bali we thought we would check out Komaneka again. We thought we'd try Komaneka at Bisma this time and we were not disappointed. The location is stunning with amazing views. The rooms were very comfortable with lots of nice touches including Apple TV. Spa treatments were fantastic and we loved the food at the hotel restaurant. Afternoon tea by the pool is also a really nice touch. The best thing about our stay however was the staff. The owners are wonderful and treat their staff like members of their own family and it certainly shows. Everyone was amazing throughout our stay and we felt thoroughly spoilt. Our 8 year old son was treated like a prince! We'll hope to be back soon.

Excellent Service, can't wait to return!!!

by TripAdvisor Member KHLY

Just returned from a 2 nights stay, really loved the place. What a shame that we couldn't stay longer... The staff were excellent, my husband and I were treated like King and Queen, the level of service provided was beyond description, one has to experience it to fully appreciate it. The environment and landscape were beautiful and we would definitely return to Komaneka if we were to visit Ubud again.

If you are looking for a hassle free holidays in Ubud, you must stay in Komaneka. Additional note, the free wifi was good and fast. As we travel to Tuban after that and we had to pay for wifi that didn't work well.
