Kori Ubud Resort & Spa
by lyrad about Kori Ubud Resort & Spa
This resort is just a five minute drive away from the main Monkey Forest Road. We had no complaints with the room, as it had the usual king size bed and a nice bathtub with a nice view of the padi fields and the forest outside.
The only complaint I had with this resort was that its complimentary shuttle service to downtown Ubud was a scheduled one. All transport outside this schedule would be charged. The problem with this is that there are no regular taxis running in Ubud. As such, I would strongly recommend that arrangements be made for your own private driver to take you around while you are in Ubud.
Resort Hotel set in rural scenery

We didn't stay in this hotel, but our driver took us there to take pictures of the rice terraces. This resort has a rural setting, and the restaurant overlooks the paddy rice fields. When we went into this hotel, we didn't see a lot of guests, probably due to its high room rates (about SGD200 per night). Great views of the rice terraces.

Behind the decieving stone wall entrance hides this beautiful restaurant with an outstanding menu. Eat at one of the pagodas located in a pond at the side of the restaurant or in a lush garden setting at the rear. Lots of great food to choose from including local specialties and international favourites all stunningly presented. Service was exceptional with a great drinks list - amazing creations with fresh fruit juice and sherbert! The clay pot curries came served in clay pots with tea light candles to keep them at the perfect temperature. This was the first time i'd ever had a clay pot curry and I'm still trying to match the experience! The curry was perfectly balanced and full of flavour. You will not be disappointed.

places to stay

Hi, I'm off to bali for 5 nights in Aug. We would like to spend 2/3 nights in ubud and the rest near a beach. Is there a hotel you would recommend in ubud that is quite close to all the main attractions and costs around $120 or so per night. And where is the best beach (white sand) where a sunset can be viewed.

Wow, $120/night is kind of alot to pay for accomodations in UBUD as it seems there are alot of nice hotels in area with good reputation and much cheaper prices but, We've herar great things about Barong Resort & Spa:

and about Kori Ubud Resort:

Well it doesn't have to be $120, thats the maximum we are planning to pay. I suppose as long as it is nice and comfortable the cheaper the better

I like Asiarooms.com:

We stayed at Ulun Ubud and loved this hotel. We're going back next year, with a group of 20 people. We're splitting it up between Puri Saraswati Bungalows, Ulun Ubud and Tjampuhan Hotel.
We've heard good things about these two as well.
Save your money on the hotel, invest in a good guide instead and make the most of your time in Bali!
Happy travels, let us know if we can be of additional info for you.

Hi, we have decided to stay in Ulan Ubud - the views look great. We wanted to book the honeymoon suite but thats fully booked. On their website it doesn't really descibe the rooms so we're not sure which to go for, the suite, studio or standard. Please recommend one.

We had the standard room and it was sufficient. Nice room, (a little dated bathroom) but we took it in as part of the charm. Loved the secluded feeling and waking up in the morning with our own private balcony overlooking the jungle from up high.
There is a picture of it on our website, also; the following link is to a group of pics of their place:
