A very OK boutique hotel
As a Bali neophyte, I relied heavily on so-called 'independent' reviews - so it's no wonder I religiously followed Lonely Planet's highly recommended mid-range accommodation in Ubud - Okawati Hotel.
And I was glad I did. I really liked my room - intricately designed in true Balinese character, very spacious and comfortable with a great large bed, a large bathroom with cold and hot water, a nice, decent breakfast, all these set amidst a fairly good-sized central location with a pool, but secluded enough to offer a little bit of privacy. Oh, did I mention their ever charming staff?
Unique Quality: It's the total package - the location, the room, staff - all boils down to good value.
