damai t house

by kyhar

Hi,

anyone has any experience staying there ? Any problems with mozzies as the house is not airconditioned. My children attract mozzies.

Thanks!

Hi....i'm from ubud, mozzies? Don't thing so. All have aircontd. Stay near the central is better i think, like monkey forest or padang tegal. ButThere are many hotel with the rice view in ubud...i hope you enjoy.

Hello
If you don't want too many mozzy problems, then get a room with air-conditioning, and some mozzy spray, (buy it here as it is easily found). try to get roms with a mozzy net for the beds, and use plenty of mozzy repellant for all of you.

Especially around Udud (Rice fields Monkey Forest, Elephant/Bat Caves and the lakes (previous post)are like 5 star hotels for mozzies, and can make life a little bit uncomfortable especially for those sensitive to mozzy bites.

I'm not from Ubud but have stayed there quite a bit. Mozzies don't worry me, wrong skin type but they love my husband and daughter. We have never found them a major problem, at night you sleep in air con and if we are sitting outsiide etc at night we use an insect repellant, always bring it from home so we don't have to worry about forgetting to do it straight away.

mosquitos? most places in indonesia have these creatures even in daytime. better bring some good mozzie repellant with you. i found the locally bought repellant ineffective... got a lot of bites to prove it. sigh :(

The Palace in Ubud.

by RoseAmano

The palace is located in the center of this village. Landmark. If you go to inside of this village in the late evening, the sunset shines on the tower of this palace. So the mystic mood..
Anyway in this palace some Balinean entertainments are held everyday 19:00-

Put up your feet on their cozy seats

by Icewine about Bali Pesto Cafe

Just 1-2 minute's walk from Dewi Ayu Guesthouse, we had dinner ALMOST every evening due to its proximity and nice food.

Bali Pesto is excellent value for money in Ubud, a city where most things usually cost a little more, for a little less. I like their iced tea cuz it was actually fruit tea with lots of different tropical fruits. Cheap and yummy seafood too !

Try the Nasi Campur

by arni_ph075 about Abian Restaurant

Abian Restaurant is the inhouse restaurant of Tegal Sari Accommodations, its open air facing the garden and paddy fields..

I didnt actually dine there, but requested for a room service, dining in my room's verandah is much more pleasant..

The choices range from local Balinese Cuisines like nasi campur, nasi goreng, gado gado., and some Western choices. I tried the local food, Nasi Campur (pronounced as "Champoor"). Direct translation is "mixed rice". "Nasi" means rice. Its delicious.

Nasi Campur is rice with boiled egg, chicken, vegies, kropecks, beef, shirmps, and sambal chili..

The Nasi Goreng is also tasty.

Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati

by arni_ph075

I was able to explore this temple complex by accident, while enjoying my lunch @ Cafe Lotus, ive seen the complex. As it was very hot afternoon, not many people dare to venture out..I was able to enjoy exploring the whole complex. Amazing architecture.

Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati is also referred as Temple of Knowledge. It is along the temple street Jalan Raya...on same street as Ubud Royal Palace. It is famed for the beautiful lotus pond on the front, where nightly cultural dances are being held.

There is no entrance fee to this temple complex.
