View from the bedroom by balisunshine This isn't the typical surfer's hang out, nor is the price. No squat toilets here! There are 8 smaller, circular styled bungalows with a great attention to detail, comfort and cleanliness. Some of the newer bungalows that have been recently built, are further back from the beach, but offers a comfortable, rustic stay. Upon entering the property you encounter a large, common open dining room offering Balinese cuisine for lunch or dinner and a lounge area to relax to lounge music and enjoy the spectacular view. The 25 m pool also greets you, and invites you to come in and enjoy a refreshing dip. Each bungalow is private, with a small garden and most offer a spectacular view of Balangan Beach Bay. Seven of the eight bungalows, can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children. There is one villa is set apart, divided into 2 floors, with it's own 15m, private swimming pool, and can sleep up to 8 people. Open since July 2003, and runned by Europeans, if you can appreciate the magnificent beauty that Balanagan Beach offers, and prefer to do it in style and comfort, then this may just be the place. Prices at the time of my visit: Bungalows: 70 Euros breakfast included The Villa: 250 Euros including breakfast for 6 people.

Large rooms by balisunshine The Puri Bali Villas located in Nyang Nyang is located on the southern end of Uluwatu, where the cliffs are more than 100 meters high. Even though it has access to the beach via the stairs that they made, it is definitely a hike for the physically fit. The villas/rooms are quite large, but the furnishings are a bit drab. And so is the style in which it is decorated in. It’s a shame since the land of which the hotel is on, could be a perfect spot for a classy venue. Their asking price for the night was $150. A bit expensive considering that for that same price there are for sure other options with more charisma.

The Wooden Bungalow by balisunshine Within the Bingin Beach area is a new property composed of 3 wooden bungalows. There isn’t a seaview here, but it is walking distance to the beach. Rooms are clean, but a bit cramped. Mosquito nets are provided along with a tv that plays DVD movies. Bathrooms are located outside, behind the bungalows. The property itself is rather large. A good location if you are on a certain budget, looking to be walking distance from Bingin Beach and prefer a cleaner place. Living Room Upstiars by balisunshine If you don't want the typical surfers place in Bukit, but still want to spot the surf each morning as you wake up, then this may be the place to stay. Tucked away, off a dirt road at Bingin, is this Villa Pemutih. The views are absolutely beautiful. And so are the sunsets 6 months of the year. The villa is spacious and impeccably clean. Plenty of natural light. Dining is out doors beneath the bale, where the kitchen adjoins. The living room has folding doors, so to accommodate your preference for that sea breeze. There as two master bedrooms so to say. One is upstairs and the other downstairs, with very large en-suite open-air bathrooms. The master bedroom upstairs has a balcony offering fantastic views of the sea. There is another room on the second floor, but without any particular view and a bit smaller. There is an entertainment room downstairs tastefully decorated and comfy to chill while watching the tube. This can also be used as an additional bedroom. There is a cozy bale adjacent to the pool and another one steps down the cliff, for those amazing sunsets at cocktail time. Or maybe a massage? If you are gym junkie, there is one right on the main road. This is definitely a property that I recommend for those sun, sea and fun lovers when amongst friends. This villa has: 1) A great location right on the cliff 2) The sea views and exclusive surroundings 3) Architectural style and constructed in fine materials 4) MA family type management and 5) Fine decoration Theme: OtherPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Jalan Pemutih Banjar Labuan SaitWebsite: www.villapemutih.com Other Contact: info@villapemutih.com

If all the sea bungalows are fully occupied, a last resort that you can lean to is, take the paved road to Balangan, at the Nimala grocery store crossing, and drive a few kilometers, and on our left hand side, you will see a small dirt road with some bungalows that are for rent. At the time of my visit, there wasn’t a phone number, but just a sign ‘For Rent. It is a bit of a distance from the beach compared to the ones near the beach, but if all else fails, maybe this can be a choice. Theme: OtherDirections: At the Nirmala intersection, take right towards Balangan. Drive a a few kilometers and it will be on a side, dirt road on the left.

Just walking distance from Padang Padang Beach, is Padang Padang Inn. At the time of my visit, I could not see a room, since they were full. The Balinese that run this place, really have their act together. They actually like to work!!! Either that or they have more than one wife to support! Not only do they provide 12 rooms for accommodations, but they also have an internet café, a wartel to provide phone calls, they supply car and motorbike rentals AND they even have a web-site and an e-mail address!!! Now how un-Balinese is that??? Price for rooms run between 70,000 – 80,000 at the time of my visit. Theme: OtherPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Jl. Off the dirt part at Bingin Beach, there is Leggie Bungalows. A surfers dream come true. Perched on the cliff, you can wake up, take a stroll down the dirt path and check out the waves, before heading down to the beach with your surf board. Non surfers….lighting is poor. Water is cold. Mattress very soft. But food is good. Not sure if the staff is very honest though. I think some of my stuff was stolen. But not really sure. Leaving room for the doubt. The price was 100,000 Rp, but I negotiated it down to 80,000 Rp. The best room is the only bedroom upstairs. Before arriving at the actual Bingin Beach, where all the budget accommodations are, on the dirt road you go straight, following the sign to reach Mu. Located in a beautiful spot atop the cliff, Mu has exquisite views, gentle sea breezes , and a high standard of lodging. Runned by French people, their prices are in Euros, starting at 75 Euros a night. Not the typical, budget surfer's place to stay. There are 3 thatched grass roof bungalows built in natural materials making it ideal for family gatherings, or for friends. Bungalows are very comfortable, equipped with king size beds with mosquito nets, private bathrooms, wooden floors, stone walls, and a great deal of attention to details. A swimming pool faces the sea and those beautiful sunsets at the end of the day. Outdoor meals are served at a large table under the shade and amongst the views. Plenty of lounging areas are scattered on the premises to absorb in the scenery. It's quite a few steps down to the beach. But, hey....with a place like this, there may be no need to leave. As of December 1st, 2007 the warungs at Dreamland are to be dismantle to make way for the new ’17 Hole’ real estate project. Bye Bye to the Dreamland that once upon a time was a beach visited by only a few, where surfers chased that perfect wave, a Dreamland that offered cheap rooms to stay, where only a few would come and spend their day. Fortunate are those, that were able to live the experience what was once considered a dream. Bye Bye Dreamland! Theme: OtherAddress: All the warungs on the beach

On the first floor down, heading a bit north is Sticky’s Place I. Again, rooms have great views. And have a chill out terrace, mosquito net, and plenty of stairs to walk up and down. The place is impeccably clean, but make sure to express your preference of a squat or sit down toilet. They have both. Prices range from 150,000 – 200,000 and maybe 150,000 for longer stays.
