With beautiful views at Bingin
is the Retreat Villa.
There is a main house
with a bedroom downstairs,
a kitchen and bathroom.
The upstairs has a porch
overlooking the swimming pool,
a large lounge room and bathroom.
There is another small, cute bungalow
on the property.
This is a great location
for lovers of nature
but don't want to stay
at one of the budget places.
The location is clean.
Price: $150 per night
On the first floor down,
heading a bit north is Sticky’s Place I.
Again, rooms have great views.
And have a chill out terrace, mosquito net,
and plenty of stairs to walk up and down.
The place is impeccably clean,
but make sure to express your preference
of a squat or sit down toilet.
They have both.
Prices range from 150,000 – 200,000
and maybe 150,000 for longer stays.
The owner is I Nyoman Tenes
I guess you could say
the first stop
would be Moyo Café,
on the way down.
With a surfboard as its sign,
this place has a appealing feel to it,
and wonderful views.
The upstairs room was taken by a very happy guest,
so I was only able to visit the cheaper, and simple room.
Sheets were clean and so was the sit down toilet bathroom.
The simple room goes for 100,000 Rp
The one that I didn’t see: 300,000 Rp
Located on Dreamland Beach,
one can find several cheap places to stay
for under $10 US a night.
I visited one of larger places
planning an evening with several of my girlfriends
of chilling, laughing and enjoying the beauty there.
At the end of the strip of bungalow style hotels is
Robby & the Kid Warung composed of 3 levels
with a double bed on each floor
(not including the hammock)
and one shared bathroom?
even though we aren't planning to sleep.
To rent the whole place is 200,000 Rp a night.
That's about $25 US shared among 6 of us.
Not bad huh?
There are other smaller Warungs to be found at 35,000 Rp
the night i.e. about $4 US.
Just show up after you've paid your taxes to enter Dreamland Beach.
Ask for Robby or Rosita
As you approach close to the edge of the cliff
on Balangan Beach,
on the right hand side
on the dirt road are 4 thatched bungalows.
Simple, but cute,
each bungalow has a front porch
where you can chill
while feeling the fresh sea breeze.
The gardens are well kept.
Bed sheets were clean,
but there were several
on the mosquito net,
so make sure to bring plenty of repellant.
The semi-open bathroom had a large vase
filled with water for bathing purposes,
(no shower here)
a sit down toilet and sink.
The stairs will lead you to the mezzanine
where another bed with an amazing view
If you are the kind
to get up several times
in the middle of the night
to use the loo,
maybe this is not the place for you to sleep.
The steps down are pretty steep.
The property has its own restaurant,
which is run by Made the chef
and keeps it was clean.
It is an easy walk down the
dirt path to Balangan Beach,
which for Zen seekers,
in my opinion is the best.
200,000 Rp for smaller bungalows that sleeps 4
250,000 Rp for large bungalow that sleeps 6
Negotiable for longer stays
and low season.
Welley is the Operation Staff
This isn't the typical surfer's hang out,
nor is the price.
No squat toilets here!
There are 8 smaller,
circular styled bungalows
with a great attention to detail,
comfort and cleanliness.
Some of the newer bungalows
that have been recently built,
are further back from the beach,
but offers a comfortable, rustic stay.
Upon entering the property
you encounter a large,
common open dining room
offering Balinese cuisine
for lunch or dinner and a
lounge area to relax to lounge music
and enjoy the spectacular view.
The 25 m pool also greets you,
and invites you to come in
and enjoy a refreshing dip.
Each bungalow is private,
with a small garden and
most offer a spectacular view
of Balangan Beach Bay.
Seven of the eight bungalows,
can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children.
There is one villa is set apart,
divided into 2 floors,
with it's own 15m,
private swimming pool,
and can sleep up to 8 people.
Open since July 2003,
and runned by Europeans,
if you can appreciate
the magnificent beauty
that Balanagan Beach offers,
and prefer to do it in style and comfort,
then this may just be the place.
Prices at the time of my visit:
Bungalows: 70 Euros breakfast included
The Villa: 250 Euros including breakfast for 6 people.
Full restaurant service
Walking distance to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bukit.
Perched on the cliff
with sea views at Bingin Beach
is Mic’s Place.
With 5 cute bungalow,
1 with 2 bedrooms,
this is a great spot for not only surfers,
but lovers of the simple, beach life.
But higher in category than
most budget places that surround it.
A great place to take over completely amongst friends,
since the bungalows are approximate to each other.
Bungalows do not have air cons,
but are open to the sea breeze
and amazing views.
Not sure of the lighting,
since I visited it in the day.
Bathrooms are separated by an open wall.
So a bit embarrassing if you happen to catch Bali Belly
and wind up spending most of your time on the Loo.
Prices are bit more expensive here,
at the time that I visited it,
they were asking $90 a night.
But over all,
a nice place to stay,
for adventurous travelers.
Not sure if for newly weds,
since everyone can hear you at night!
Right above Bingin Beach
Off the dirt part at Bingin Beach,
there is Leggie Bungalows.
A surfers dream come true.
Perched on the cliff,
you can wake up,
take a stroll down the dirt path
and check out the waves,
before heading down to the beach
with your surf board.
Non surfers….lighting is poor.
Water is cold.
Mattress very soft.
But food is good.
Not sure if the staff is very honest though.
I think some of my stuff was stolen.
But not really sure.
Leaving room for the doubt.
The price was 100,000 Rp,
but I negotiated it down to 80,000 Rp.
The best room is the only bedroom upstairs.
The Puri Bali Villas located
in Nyang Nyang is located
on the southern end of Uluwatu,
where the cliffs are more than 100 meters high.
Even though it has access to the beach
via the stairs that they made,
it is definitely a hike for the physically fit.
The villas/rooms are quite large,
but the furnishings are a bit drab.
And so is the style in which it is decorated in.
It’s a shame since the land of which the hotel is on,
could be a perfect spot for a classy venue.
Their asking price for the night was $150.
A bit expensive considering that for that same price
there are for sure other options with more charisma.
As you arrive to the hills of Bukit,
tucked away is Angkasa Villa.
3 separate rooms with en suite bathrooms,
a full kitchen and service.
an extra office/guest room
and a beautiful open living room
with high views of Jimbaran Bay.
Because of it’s location,
transportation is a must.
And some might prefer
to be closer to the sea.
But otherwise the villa has great views
is of a high end category
managed by The Tamu Group.
Very nice architectural designs.
Perched on the cliff
over looking Bingin Beach,
before arriving to the numerous steps down,
is Kembang Kuning with 5 bungalows,
and a few more under constructions.
The views are absolutely amazing.
Not only of Bingin Beach,
but also of Dreamland Beach
within the short distance.
Great for checking the surf at both beaches.
The property also offers outside chilling
with day beds.
Rooms and bathrooms with sit down toilets
are impeccably clean.
There’s no air con,
but the sea breeze should do.
And the price…..
150,000 per night
Clean and comfortable
Not sure if it is a quality,
but you got this family of monkeys that
pay the occasional visit in the mornings or late afternoon.
They want food!!!!
The views just brilliant! Directly to the sea, with coconut trees, cool swimmingpool and Balinese accentuation everywhere --from mural in the lobby ceiling, many kind of stuffs in the room, 'till the fragrance of its flowers :) So romantic here, but I have to go soon since my work is waiting :(
I like their pool very much, then easy chair and welcome drink (put in the batok kelapa, coconut glass added with a slice of pineapple). Woww, like in Hawaii ;)
NICE. On a cliff overlooking the surf! CLEAN. I would say the eating options in the vacinity are very limited, compared to, say Kuta. But if you are a surfer, you have to stay here, if only for a night or so.
Surfer's location, but not cheap / surfer's price range. Was about $65 a nite. I bet it is very quiet at night, with the sound of the crashing waves!!!
