Hotel Kurnia: Clean and quiet

We had consulted the Pati government website for hotels (http://www.pati.go.id/infopenting/hotel.php) , they list just two 1-star hotels and a lot of budget hotels ("Melati" class). These are Hotel Merdeka and Hotel Kurnia. We found Hotel Merdeka too dirty for our taste, but hotel Kurnia was ok, so we took a VIP room here at Rp 215,000 a night.
The room and the bedsheets were clean, we got a clean towel every day. Only the breakfast - stone cold nasi goreng - was a disappointment.

Later we found out that the government website gives dated info. Hotel Kurnia may have been the top when it was built in 1979, but looks a bit faded. A former "Melati" class hotel, the Pati Hotel, has been upgraded, and is now the only hotel in the city with swimminhg pool (not counting new Griya Wijaya, 3 km from the town square on the western border of Pati town). Hotel Rama and Hotel Sartika also seem competative with Hotel Kurnia.

Unique Quality: Kurnia Hotel is conveniently located at walking distance from the town square.
The rooms are arranged around three enclosed gardens. The VIP rooms lie around the back garden, so very quiet, no traffic noise.
The hotel has one suite going for Rp 600,000.- so it must be luxurious, but we didn't check it out.
