A cool cloudy city

"Tangkuban Parahu"
Tangkuban Parahu is an active volcano. We were staying at hotel Jayakarta in Bandung. It took more than 2 hours from hotel to reach the area you can see in the picture.
Bandung itself is about 4 hours away from Jakarta.
"Strawberry Garden"
On the way to Tangkuban Parahu there are some nice strawberry gardens. By paying IDR8000 (about 1 USD) we entered one garden. We were allowed to pick and eat one or two strawberries. We cut some fresh strawberries with scissors and put them in busket; then we had them weighed and we bought those. We also enjoyed strawberry juice.

"April 07 - 17, 2008"
Went to Indonesia with my wife Shamshad for the first time, Purpoase was training and honeymoon. Ericsson's LCC training was from April 09-11, 2008. We stayed at Mulia Hotel (Senayan). Then we went to Bandung on April 11, 2008. We stayed at Hotel Jayakarta. Next day we went to see the active volcano 'Tangkuban Parahu', a really beautiful journey to a magnificient place! On April 13 we went to Jakarta, through Puncak - a hilly place with beautiful lookouts and tea gardens. From Jakarta we took a flight to Bali. We stayed in Bali from April 13 to April 17.

I haven't been to Jogjakarta recently. The last trip I had was on 1996 (uh oh). But Jogjakarta has so many different kind of accomdations, ranging from no-star guest house to luxurious 5-stars. Try Jayakarta Hotel near the airport. Or Natour in the Malioboro street. Or want a really posh one? Sheraton Mustika is the right place. You can also try the low-budget accomodation...like the guest houses scattered throughout the city. They are nice and clean (if you can find the right one).
Sights to see: Malioboro street, the Taman Sari kraton, Borobudur temple (outside Jogjakarta), Prambanan temple, etc.

If you go to Yogyakarta you can go to Prambanan Temple, Malioboro street at night, go to King's palace, cheap silver in Kotagede.
& not far from Yogyakarta there are Borobudur temple. But, i'd rather to stay near Borobudur if i visit there.
Have a nice vacation,
