For a 1-2 star hotel...this is a good one. Room is clean. Bed linen, carpet and pillows were clean (or at least in the room i stayed in). Toilet was clean as well and there's no smell of old furniture.
Tired of shopping/sightseeing...the hotel's simple garden is waiting for you right on your door step (if your room is located at the 1st floor).
I stayed here for a few nights. The hotel is nice and clean...hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Located at Jl. Hegarmanah...very near to Bandung's famous factory outlet 'Rumah Mode'...less than 5 min walk from the hotel. Sany Rosa is located by the main street, very easy to get cabs n angkuts. There're also McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Sederhana Restaurant just across the hotel.
For those going to Bandung mainly to shop or just planning to go sightseeing...i would say this is a good place to stay. The price is quite reasonable...on the weekdays deluxe twin/double bed only cost about RM125 (around 36 USD) per night...prices back to normal rate on the weekends, but still very reasonable. Food here is acceptable...my stay was during the fasting month...so only had the chance of taking fried rice served with omelet, chips, fruits and tea for my late supper...it was nice.
If you're going to the factory outlets in Jl Dago and Jl Riau...taxi ride will take about 10-15 min depending on traffic. Too lazy to wait for taxi by the road side...just get the hotel staff to help you.
In conclusion, i would definitely recommend this place. You get comfort at a very reasonable rates.
We actually wanted a family room BUT it was very surprising knowing that the hotel only had rooms with 2 single beds or 1 queen bed with 1 single bed. An employee there mentioned that they were following the "hotel" concept, Strange. We were then told that if we wanted family rooms, We could try Aston's other branch at Jalan Braga, Bandung. The rooms, facilities and food was good but the room service was awfully slow & the female staffs at front desk were pretty lazy. Everything gradually picked up after some stern complaints! We actually had to freaking wait for a day for the staff to deliver the safety deposit box to the room! God knows what they were doing...
Good breakfast buffet & Great Pool.
Supposed to be a 3 star hotel but the quality is just 2 star hotel. My superior room is clean but old. The split unit air-condition worked well. Bathroom need immediate repair. My bathroom door couldn't even close properly. Hot water is very limited. If the first person used for too long, the second person will not have hot water anymore. You have to wait a while longer. Breakfast provided is not that bad.
Location wise it is at the center of the city. Train station is just across the road at the left hand side. You will need to take taxi to all the major shopping area. Use Blue Bird meter taxi as they are very reliable. No problem of getting one because they usually waited in front of the train station.
For food, there are 3 chinese restaurant (2 directly infront of the hotel and 1 just around the corner). Food in Bandung is more expensive compared to Malaysia. Maybe to cater for rich Jakarta residents who came down to Bandung for weekend shopping trips. The quality is just average.
Along the hotel road there are many cakes, pastries & titbits stalls. Brownies cakes from Kartika Sari (factory and sale outlet is just by an alley nearby hotel) and Amanda brownies is good. Some people like Kartika Sari and some prefer Amanda. I personally prefer Kartika Sari's ovened brownies due to its chocolate pureness and richness. Price is just between 20K-25K rupiah. Further down the road, there is a bakery Mayasari which sell quite good layer cake & pastries.

Its Aston Tropicana on Jl. Cihampelas. The best thing about this place was the comfort of its rooms... the bed, the bathroom, the fittings: in terms of cleanliness, design, space and practicality were great. Only thing was that there was no hair dryer in our room or bathrobes for a hotel that considers itself to be four star. Also the pictures on its website showed flat screen TVs but we got the old boxy types. I'd ask for a room at the back the next time because facing the main road means you get the early morning street sounds by 530am.
Room service was pretty good. Breakfast is not impressive but you'll be able to get toast and eggs... the rest is really up to your taste. There's a McDonalds right beside it and a Giant supermarket. No late check-outs allowed eventhough they didn't seem full. Not even till 3pm. But they did keep our bags for us.
Location is good since its smack in the middle of three main shopping roads (Riau/Martadinata, Dago/Juanda and Setiabudhi), so not too far to get to any one of them. There are many shops selling jeans on our street but we had heard we'd get more high fashion stuff elsewhere so I didn't bother with them here. Still, the one across the street from our hotel had Ms Sixty and Bebe jeans.
And after all that shopping, you can just request for someone to come and give you an aromatic foot rub for an hour at 60,000rp in the comfort of your room. Last call is 11pm and the service is one step short of tucking you into bed.
I would definitely stay here again.

2nd honeymoon in mountain resort hotel
Built by the Dutch in 1945, the hotel began as the Pension Benvenuto.
The hotel have 40 rooms, restaurant and lush tropical gardens teeming with exotic foliage, over looking Bandung’s famous Gedung Sate Building. Near to shopping malls and factory outlet at Jalan Riau.
The room I stayed in was really comfortable. It's clean. Toilet was a bit small though...but not a major problem. No iron provided...n no ironing allowed in the room...so just send your clothes for pressing...better bring clothes that don't need ironing.
My 4 nights stay here was pleasant since it was actually a last minute deal...arranged by the agent at the airport...I was really glad to have a place to stay rather than jumping from one hotel to another. Service was fast. The hotel is well kept...it's new I think...so no smell of old wooden furniture...which was great for me. Room service is 24 hours...n the food was nice. Facilities were just fine...nothing to complaint...considering I left the hotel very early in the morning n came back late evening. The only thing is...breakfast selection was very limited. This place don't have continental breakfast...everyday it's local breakfast menu.
Well, it's located at Jalan Cihampelas...also known as Jeans Street...n just on the left is Jalan Setiabudi where the ever so famous factory outlet in Bandung is located...Rumah Mode...so shopping is just outside the hotel...within walking distance. Going to other shopping places was never a problem...outside... at the main road...plenty of taxis passing by...n the hotel transport also provide drop off service for a quite reasonable price.
Next visit...I might consider staying at Sany Rosa...its much closer to Rumah Mode...
Grand Setiabudi is a serviced apartment and Hotel. Located near to Rumah Mode. Main reason why we stayed there.... as we dedicated the whole weekend for FO Shopping and Rumah Mode is one of the best FO in town.
They have 1,2,3 bedroom option. We were staying on 1 bedroom and it is spacious. They do not have kitchen though, only a pantry. But the 2 bedroom one does have kitchen.
The TV cable is great, they have almost every channel.
Breakfast is OK...not many space but variety and taste is good.
There is a swimming pool for adult and kids, but it is not heated. Water is freezing cold :(
Service is okay.
Bathroom is small but clean. With showers, hand held which is great if you bring kids.
Recommended by chat friends.

HOTEL SAVOY IS A VERY OLD HOTEL SINCE 1932. its art-deco made by dutch architects i believe. Stay is enjoyable as the service is first class. Staff here are very nice!!! You can even request for car rental at a very cheap price!
They have concierge that will attend to ANY of your needs.
But you have to ask for the girl the receptionist downstairs,
because housekeeping understands little english.
So go directly to the receptionist and she will take care everything for you.
ALL staff are very courteous!!!
