Kartika Abadi Hotel: madiun best hotel
Kartika Abadi hotel is located on the main street, near from mall and department store. Very easy to find a many restaurant.
i stay at Kartika Abadi hotel for 2 night, i stay in deluxe room.
the room is very clean, and the staffs are friendly =)
Breakfast included, i chosed nasi pecel for my breakfast, because nasi pecel is famous Indonesian traditional food.
and most importantly the prices are not expensive and appropriate with they service and room
i recommend this hotel

Hotel Kartika Abadi: Among the top of Madiun
Madiun does not have any five star hotels. Having said that we found Hotel Kartika Abadi comfortable and clean. Good enough to serve as a base for going out of town. It is also centrally located.
We paid Rp 275,000 for a standard room for two (October 2007). At a higher rate superior rooms and suites were available.
You may want to check out Hotel Merdeka also, a short distance north on the same street. Should be of the same quality and price, so we were told but did not verify it.

Hotel Merdeka: Madiun's hotel
Hotel Merdeka, situated at the heart of Madiun. Next to the hotel is shopping center, where Matahari departement store is located. Opposite there is another mall, where there is supermarket, AW and other junk food restaurants.
The room is old fashion, poor maintained, smells of old carpet. And dirty sink and bathroom.
The door is from the thin teakboard. Lift available. Breakfast included, but in poor quality of food and beverages. There is no toothbrush provided for the superior room (wonder how much it cost for a toothbrush?). staffs are not friendly. When i told them my absence to bring toothbrush, they refuse to assist me in that matter as my room is superior and it was about 9pm at night, where all the shops and "warung" are closed. What a service.
Even the hotel is far from good, but claimed to be the best hotel in Madiun. It was an old hotel which erected long time ago, perhaps it was the only hotel in Madiun back then. But now there is another new hotel along the road. but still for the convinience hotel Merdeka is the choice regardless the lack of maintainance.
Unique Quality: Swimming pool is available.
