Travel Tips for Malang
Bajul Mati beach
by theo1006
Somewhat less remote tha Goa Cina beach is nearby Bajul Mati beach. Here is a ticket booth but only during holidays, on work days access is free. Also in the weekends only a few simple warungs sell drinks and snacks.
The shore is sandy but rather steep, there are less rocks than at Goa Cina beach. The surf is strong.
Directions: Leave Malang as if you were going to Sendang Biru beach, via Turen and Sumbermanjing Wetan. A few km before Sendang Biru beach there is a fork in the road. Instead of going left, follow the signboard pointing right to "Guwo Cino". Follow the brand new, wide road for about 5 km to the end (across Bajul Mati bridge), where signs point you to the coast at Bajul Mati beach.
BALEKAMBANG BEACH
by RoyJava
The Balekambang Beach (literally "Floating Couch") is a beautiful beach with white sand and, with an impressive Hindu Temple nearby, located 57 km South of Malang. Here you can find the replica of the Temple in Tanah Lot, Bali. The two beaches noted for the annual Sea Festival are Ngliyep and Balekambang. Please keep in mind the dates mentioned in East Java's Calendar of Events.
These parks, however, for all their beauty, are relatively unknown outside of East Java. When you visit these area's you may meet the individual local families who run the business there. No big hotels and no resorts yet bought up by corporate tourist giants ...
