Nice Hotel with Good service
I enjoyed my stay in Ibis Rajawali. The staff here was very nice. Anyway the room here was bigger than the room in Ibis Slipi in Jakarta and nice but whatever you do don`t take a smoking room if your partner smokes and you don`t. 1st of all the windows of the hotel don`t open so I guess you just got to smoke inside the rooms. The room stinks of smoke and I just could`nt take it but at least I got my room changed as I was going to be put up with my buddies smoking.
Anyway the Restaurant there was very nice and the staff was all quiet good. Breakfast was also very nice.
Unique Quality: They have a bar at the entrance and you can buy 1 bintang beer and get a free game of billiards. There is no swimming pool here and its also very close to Jembatan Merah Plaza so you can just walk there if you have to.

Hi Vts
Good day.
Travel to bromo and Ijen in May.
In Jogja Out Surabaya.
Will have one night spent in Surabaya.
Looking for reasonable accomodation in Surabaya. Around 200,000 to 300,000rph.
I saw a blog about Puri Kenchana, anybody know this hotel?
Any others recommendation for my hotel price range?

You can stay in Ibis Hotel Surabaya located in Jembatan Merah area, or Darma inn located in central Surabaya. price range is 200tho rupiahs

Try Hotel Paprica Dua: Jl Genteng Besar 80, Surabaya. Tel 031 5353719. Price is around 175,000-250,000

It's a new hotel downtown. You can reach central city easily. So I guess there's no website available yet. As for Puri Kencana I passed by yesterday, sort of an inn.

When we visited Surabaya, we stayed in the Majapahit Hotel. It was designed by the Sarkie brothers - the same people who designed the Raffles, Singapore. But it costs a fraction of the price of the Raffles and it is absolutely beautiful -an oasis of calm in the midst of the traffic madness of Surabaya. Check if they are offering a deal. It is worth it.
