Hotel Silverin: Best among the mediocre
There is no really good hotel in Bajawa. Most individual travellers stay in town, in one of the hotels on A Yani Street. But tour buses bring their groups to Hotel Silverin, which lies on the Trans Flores Road south of town. It is probably the best choice if you disregard the 3 km distance from Bajawa centre.
Having our own wheels, we also opted for Silverin. However, the best rooms on the first floor were reserved for tour guests, so we had to make do with a room on the ground floor. All rooms come with hot water, but they are rather bare.
Standard breakfast comes with toast. We ordered and got nasi goreng, which unfortunately tasted rather flat.
There is a restaurant across the road where you can have an evening meal. But it is not as good as Lucas Restaurant in town.
Room rates (double): ground floor Rp 250,000; first floor RP 350,000 (July 2011).

On the first floor are the balconies (front and back) where breakfast is served. It is good sitting here and admire the view, but in early morning and late afternoon one better put on a jacket: Bajawa has a cool climate.
