The best in Ba'a town: Hotel Ricky

If you don't want to head straight to Memberala beach, you have a few options in the capital Ba'a. Recommended as the best in Ba'a is Hotel Ricky. We found it somewhat too noisy for our taste and opted for the new Tiberias Resort and Hotel of the same owner.

Our choice near Ba'a: Tiberias Resort and Hotel

The owner of Hotel Ricky must be optimistic about Rote's touristic potential, as he newly established the Tiberias Resort and Hotel near the beach at 5 km north of Ba'a. The beach here is not perfect, but when you walk around a bit you'll find a spot with more sand than rocks at the bottom.

The rooms were new, spacious and clean and come with AC. The term "resort" in the name must refer to the spacious layout, they had only started planting trees and flowers.

Only drawback: rather far from everywhere. However, pick-up service from and to Ba'a harbour is included in the room price. And for getting around Rote you have to make a deal with a motorbike owner anyhow or negotiate a car with driver from the hotel owner!

Room rates start at Rp 200,000 (no hot water) including breakfast.

There is a restaurant on the beach side, we had our meals in a gazebo. The night before our departure we had a lively karaoke session in the resto together with the staff.
