Puri raja: Beautiful beach location

by veronicasimcoe

This hotel is very very nice. The location is right on the beach and close to the legian markets. The services are fantastic and the rates are great. Breakfast is good as well.

Views at breakfast we great. Their are 2 swimming pools, one with a swim a bar.

Grand Elite Hotel: Hotel to avoid like the plague in PEKANBARU

by tallinn57

Highly NOT recommended..... for corporate meetings / training, veryunresponsive service, disinterested management in solving customer problems, hypocritical responses (smiles and pleasantry up front, but no action to back it up).

When talking to the duty manager regarding all our conference / meeting problems, troubles in the hotel room itself, he threatened to call the police when I raised my voice, not focusing on the customer's problem.

Nothing unique except for its lack of attention and service.

Millennium Hotel Sirih Jakarta: Great hotel to start your tour on Java

by woodstockties

As everywhere in Indonesia the service is excellent. There are 2 bars and 4 restaurants.
The only disadvantage is the contrast with the neighbourhood. Outside the hotel you'll find a lot of poor people, trafficjam and a stinking canal.

The beds are excellent. The swimmingpool is great and the view over Jakarta overwhelming.

Shady Shack: a 'not yet spoiled' paradise

by Noomi

well, neither Hostel nor Hotel nor Guesthouse would be the perfect description, they name it "Resort", I would rather say it's an absolutely lovely place to stay and feel good!! Small wooden cabanas in the local style, all facing the sea, standing on the sandy (almost white!) beach. No comfort at all, but all you need like a bed with mosquito net, shower and toilet. Every cabana has an own balcony with two wooden chairs and a table.
The host Lobo seems to be known almost islandwide :-D - if you need anything, Lobo will arrange! 10 rooms in total, a little restaurant where you get fabulous local food, benches and places to sit are all around open air.

During the week we were the only guests, that was perfect for people not looking for razzle-dazzle, on the weekend the place was crowded with students from Singapore, but I can say it was bearable ;-)

But....bring your own towels, they don't have any!

a beautiful beach!! If you go during the week, I can easily happen that you won't see ANYONE the whole day at the beach! It's cleaner than in the bays, no rubbish at the beach or in the water, no heavy high tide - low tide movements.

cheap and safe hotel with friendly staff: Budget travellers and backpackers'

by ckpeng

Good service but facilities are old. Shower in attached bathroom with hot water . Aircon and non-aircon depending on the price. Simple breakfast is provided. Friendly staff. Highly recommendable to backpackers who don't mind simple facilities. Safe to walk in and out of the hotel even late at night.

Merapi Hotel is highly recommedable to all backpackers for its location, cheap rate, safety and friendly staff. Just a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of the famous Malioboro street. It is at Gang 2 just off Malioboro.

In fact all the budget hotels in Gang 1 ,2 and 3 are highly recommendable to backpackers.

Alam Indah: Best Place to Stay in Ubud

by Aerofilly

Alam Indah is located a 5 minute walk south of the Monkey Forest (Ubud) in the town of Nyuhkuning. The staff here are wonderful. Ayu and Gusti make you feel right at home when you arrive, greeting you with fresh fruit drinks and escorting you to your lovely room. There are only 10 room here which afford the staff to make sure all of the guests are well taken care of. Some of the amenities include: a small swimming pool set in amongst the lush foliage overlooking the river valley, breakfast is served as part of the room fee, as is afternoon tea, and the staff will make sure you have the best drivers for your day-trips. If you want to feel as though you are at home in Bali, stay here.

Ibu Wayan and Bapak Ketut, who own Alam Indah, also own several other hotel properties in the same general area. They include a lower priced property, as well as a few higher priced ones. Their newest property has an adjacent spa with wonderful treatments. They also own the famous Cafe Wayan on Monkey Forest road. Stop by if you need a chocolate fix, their "Death by Chocolate" cake is darn good! If Balinese food interests you, Ibu Wayan's daughter Metri, teaches a cooking class nearby.

Mimpi Manis: Kuta Lombok Homestay

by maria04

Mimpi Manis is a small homestay 2 km from Kuta in Lombok. We stayed there for 3 nights in March 07. It's a small place run by an English woman, Gemma, and her Balinese husband Made. The first night we stayed in the rental house. Although it's quite spacious, clean and decently decorated, it was too close to the road and noisy, Also there's no ac, so we had to use the mosquito net which was very hot to sleep under. Luckily for us they had had a no show, so for the following 2 nights we moved to the one room they have with a/c. This was much better as it's also further from the road and much quieter. It has a small double and a single bed, and an en-suite shower room. Very clean and generally in better condition than the house. A light breakfast is included in the room rate, which is very reasonable, and the 2 staff are lovely, very helpful and always smiling. Made did his best to make our stay enjoyable.

Close to amazing beaches and the real, rural Lombok. Very clean at a very good price. Negatives are - Can get boring in the evenings, but each room has a DVD player and there's a choice of free films to watch. Also, the cost of transport was way above what we expected to pay. Made quoted us Rp600,000 for a days car and driver, which we thought was too expensive. When we pointed out to Made that it was way more expensive than what they charge in Bali, his answer was "There's no competition here". When you consider that a waiter in Lombok earns about Rp700,000 a month, it puts Made's price into perspective. If I stay there again I'll take my driving licence and rent a car to get around.

NUSA DUA BEACH HOTEL: A luxury resort

by luvtrvlg

It is a beach front property right beside the ClubMed in Bali. A very nice luxurious property. A little ways from the city of Denpasar, but accessible with taxi or buses.

The place itself is a full service property, has lots of swimming pools and is also a beach front property.

This would be a FIRST CLASS 5 STAR PROPERTY.
