Grand Paradise Hotel Lembang: ancient Rome in the Tropics
we were surprised when we visited the Grand Paradise Hotel Lembang.......it is located in a steeply sided valley and cannot be seen from the road linking the mountain town of Lembang with the Tangkuban Parahu Volcano.
We were walk in dining guests....there is a 10 thousand rupiah fee just to visit the Hotel which is refunded when you pay the meal bill. To gain access to the water park there is a 50 thousand idr fee, around 6 usd......i believe for guests it might be inclusive to swim at the Grand Paradise Water Park Hot Springs.....there are "roman" statues all over the Grand Paradise, white domes, white horses (not real) and simulated Roman Gardens.....there are around 70 guest rooms....and a lot of space in the Hotel.....as Lembang is high up the public areas do not need airconditioning. It can be rather cool at nights, but never ever freezing. Our Meal was reasonable, and the staff were friendly. We visited around midday on a Sunday coming back from the Sari Ater Hot Springs....the Grand Paradise would be the ideal place to visit after a visit to the Tangkuban Perahu Volcano, and to stay there would be a unique experience. I was told many visitors go there from the middle east and from China.
Unique as much of the hotel is built to resemble ancient rome., there are simulated roman gardens and lots of wall statues........even a simulated marble staircase....looks great in photos...
