Penginapan Benteng Duurstede: Basic but friendly with great beach

Penginapan Benteng Duurstede located next door to Fort Duurstede and within easy walking distance of shops in Kota Saparua is run by a wonderful, friendly family. The rooms are basic but clean and breakfast is very simple. The location is ideal with a beautiful beach bordering the property - in the mornings it is like having your own private beach. The family will cook dinner if you notify by midday - fresh fish, rice and vegetables for only 30,000 rupiah. 'Guides' visit the penginapan regularly, so it is easy to organise day trips to Nusa Laut or half day excursions to Ouw, Itawaka or Goa Puteri Tujuh. For those on a budget you can hardly get better. In January 2011 still only 60,000 per night.

Fantastic beach right in front of the rooms and great family hosts who are willing to help without being invasive in any way.
