PULISAN JUNGLE RESORT: There Is A Place Like Home

Pulisan Jungle Resort will be the perfect place to stay for the adventurer and diver traveller. It is located at the beach jungle of Pulisan, 2 hours drive from Manado, where you can see the traditional fishermen and enjoy your vacation far away from the hectic city Manado. Many tours offered by the owners, Katrina and Annie, like hiking and trekking to Tangkoko, Minahasa tour, diving hours, etc. It has great staff who serve you sincerely, magnificent views of sunrise, cheerful local people which I believe lead the visitors to come back again. I read a complaint about the food on VT before, but you may request for your own special menu .Check the website for more pictures and features. You may see some videos about Pulisan on youtube too.

Divers Lodge Lembeh: One on one diving

This is the place for customised diving! I chose to stay here because I can dive at my own pace, whenever I want and wherever I choose. I can even have my own guide as well as my own boat! Boats are comfy with bathroom, electricity to charge my batteries (very important since each dive is 60 minutes or more) and the resort has a great house reel with its own mandarin fish!This is what I call "dream diving"!!!

There are only five detached bungalows so it's never too crowded either at the resort, on the boat or at the dive sites. From my verandah and the resort lounge, there are magnificent views of the beautiful bay, volcanoes and surrounding scenery. Rooms are big, fan-cooled and there is hot water in the bathroom (but no flush toilets. There is a toilet bowl and to flush, it's fill your bucket and flush it yourself).

The owners, Rob and Linda are very helpful and they make it a point to have dinner with all their guests every night. Definitely a place I would come back and recommend to friends.

You're probably thinking - sounds great but can I afford it? At Euro 556 for 7 nights and 6 days diving (all inclusive) with extra Euro 180 for unlimited diving, it is the most affordable dive resort in Lembeh. Here's what I got :
- Transfers from/to airport or Manado
- Bungalow, very spacious bungalow for two persons or smaller bungalow for one person
(the best part is there is not surcharge if you're a single traveller)
- All meals, water, coffee and tea
- Snacks (made fresh every afternoon)
- Non alcoholic bottled beverages
- Laundry service (everything is hand washed)
- Use of computer and CD/DVD-burner
- Two dives by boat per day (third dive on the same day, for example nightdive, € 20,-)
- Taxes

Quality Hotel: Best hotel in the center of the city!

It turned out my visit to Manado is extended until last April 2007. And during my visit from 2005 to 2007, a new hotel in the center of the city is built. So, I moved from the old-rotten Ritzy hotel to Quality hotel.

As a chain hotel, it has everything as I expected. Sanitized WC - clean sheet (rarely found in Ritzly hotel) and more teve programme. The room is clean and pristine. They have nice bed and I can sleep well. And the breakfast is also better. THey also have wi-fi in the hotel - a luxury you cannot find easily in Manado. Overall - it is the hotel I really like during my visit to Manado...!!!

You will probably like the view from 6th floor - of ritzy hotel - where you can sunbathed in the pool and have a good view to the ocean. But I choose Quality, as I came there once a week and I need good rest.

Hotel Central Manado: Simple and Centre

During my stay? Its alright although the rooms a bit small with a queen bed in it. For a day I dont mind though.

Unique Quality: No unique quality. Just a average hotel. Its alright for a short stay. Cheap also.

Tarsius Homestay: Cheap accomodation in Tangkoko NP

Accomodation in Tangkoko is very basic.

The food is good and the staff is friendly.

Price: 75.000 Rp (3 meals included)
