Toledo Inn: Batak Roof Hotel with clean rooms green garden

They have great service. The Inn only have basic facilities where rooms with hot water and private shower room. The Inn has karaoke and bar. The hotel offer great food. I think it is worth a stay in this Toledo Inn.

I am not very sure of the price per nite as an agent in Medan arrange for my trip to Lake Toba. The agent name is Horas Indo Tour.

It is a nice hotel (to me not an Inn cos the hotel is big). It has many rooms and all rooms are facing the lake. They have like Toledo Inn 1 and Toledo Inn 2. If not mistaken the 1 I stay is Toledo Inn 1. The view from my room is great overviewing the lake. Every morning U will hear the boat passing by taking people from Prapat to the Lake. Near the tourist attraction like Ambarita and Tomok. They have their own boat to bring you cruising the lake and to tourist attractions. The food they prepare for breakfast, lunch or dinner is great too.

Tuktuk Timbul: Tuktuk Timbul

Run by a dutch lady married to a local (sorry, I can't remember her name) this place was THE place to stay in Samosir back in 1991. The people were really friendly, the bungalows were clean and each one of them had a fantastic view of the lake (they were built right on the lake shore) and they were all built in the traditional buffalo-horn-shaped-roof style. The food was nice... basic but nice.
Every time you ordered something you wrote it down in your private notepad and you could pay your bill at checkout time.

Great views of the lake, the top floor rooms if you didn't mind the mice droppings on your sheets

Q: ferry transfer & guest houses "hello..will visit lake toba on may 2011 but will be arriving late, around 10pm..so i'd like to know is there a boat transfer to..."

A: "Hi, There is no ferry transfer at that time of night. You will need to stay in Parapat for the night and get the morning ferry over to Samosir Island. Sorry cannot help..."
