 | Nusa Lembongan Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 18 | | After riding around visiting the places that I had read about either in travel guides or on the internet, I found out that most of the low and mid-budget places to stay have a sink in the room and a shower hose located next to the toilet. Definitely not those clean, dream places that you find on the main island, Bali. Finally, when close to my last option, I found on the way to Coconut Beach Resort a place called Putu's Bed and Breakfast. Rooms are clean and have a wonderful terrace with amzing views. Rooms range from 100,000 RH to 200,000. I guess I could say that the Bunga Bungalo is one of the better low-range accommodations located on the Jugabatu Beach. There are 4 newer bungalows, which are decorated by theme. The outside premises are cute, decorated with an outdoor shower and sink. I had dinner there, which was quite good and very cheap. For less than $5.00 I had the Fish Curry, White Rice, and a fresh juice. Prices are around 150,000 RH Leave a Comment Theme: OtherPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: On the beachPhone: 366 24529Directions: You'll arrive by boatWebsite: E-mail: bunga-lembo@telkom.net Other Contact: Cell. 081-239 81029

Hai Tide Huts is located right on Mushroom Beach. When I asked the gentleman at the reception if I could see a hut, he did not seem too motivated. A hard day in paradise? There is a swimming pool on the grounds. Several huts are spread out on the property with some facing the beach. Each hut has a lounge are underneath, which is very inviting to hang out and chill while reading a book. As you go up the stairs, which I found a bit steep you encounter a small terrace, which then leads to the small bedroom with A/C. There are no bathrooms in the huts, so you need to climb down the steep steps to go. But they are well kept and clean. I just wonder how the other guests would react to my long showers? Room rates include Government Tax & Service, Hotel Transfers, ALL activities, and there is a package to choose from. Direct Rates are: $69 for regular Hut $84 for Beach Front But cheaper rates can be found on the internet Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: On the best beachPhone: .62-361-720331 Fax. 62-361-7203Website: www.balihaicruises.com Other Contact: E-mail: sales@balihaicruises.com

Maybe one of the cleaner places to stay on Jungutbatu Beach could be Linda's. Rooms are quite simple, but clean!! Rooms range about 80,000 RH and the property has a restaurant.
Cleaner than most other budget places in Nusa Lombongan. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Right on the beachPhone: (0366) 24495Directions: You'll get there by boat

I had read quite a few good reviews about Villa Wayan on the internet and in travel guides. So it was one of my options as far as where to stay. The owner owns several 'versions' of Villa Wayan. There is a newer area, where several rooms can be provided for families, and upstairs is a comfortable lounge area with a great view. But the rooms, I found to be cramped and quite small. The bathrooms could use a cleaning with some bleach. I was then taken to the older sector of the property. Again, the rooms were quite small, but nicely decorated. But when one visits the bathrooms, one wonders if one will catch a nice dose of fungus. Of course, some of the bathrooms are dark enough, so you may not see this. The property is in front of a nice beach though and you can always travel with a jug of bleach. A couple of days later, I went back to have lunch at there restaurant. I decided to have the mushroom crepe, since I figured that they were home grown in the bathrooms. Yum!?* Leave a Comment

On the same path as Coconuts Beach Resort, is Villa Aman over looking Jungutbatu beach. This is a newly constructed and very clean Villa that has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen with a cook, a dining area and balcony. An extra single bed may be provided for larger families with children. It may be rented as a whole for $100 US, or just a bedroom for $50 US with the adjoining common space. After seeing a few other locations at similar prices, I found this to be a great deal and of superior category. OK. You may not have the swimming pool, but the sea is right in front, a beach within walking distance, lots of privacy and your own chef/staff who maybe with a bonus tip you could also ask to help babysitting if you travel with your children. And if you truly desire to eat out, the village is in walking distance. The place is owned by a local, Fila Aman who you can contact upon your arrival at the Main Ski Inn or call: 0366-24481 and also owned by an Australian who you can reach at 614-228 90955 For longer stays, I am sure a sweet deal can be arranged. I had read a bit about the Bungalow No. 7 on the Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree about rats. I winded up walking on the property out of simple curiosity. There were several young guests staying there. Probably a great party place. There is not much attention given to the bathrooms in these low-budget accommodations. The bedrooms were quite simple, decorated with beds from the '60's or '70's. There are better places to stay at in my opinion. Check the photos and judge for yourself. Prices vary according to how busy they are. Price range 50,000-150,000RH But if you aren't a clean freak like myself, you might enjoy the cheap price.

Located on the gorgeous Mushroom Beach, among the other upscale resorts is WakaNusa. This hotel is part of a hotel chain with hotels in Sanur, Tabana, and Bali Barat National Park. When I arrived on the grounds, several families were enjoying themselves around the pool. The rooms are very pleasant and clean. And through the staff that I encountered, I got the impression that they are there to please. The rooms were spacious and clean. Several activities are included in the $143 UDS rate
Very Nice rooms and grounds. Located on a fabulous beach. Leave a Comment

Let's say that this resort looks as good as its brochure. Located in a beautiful place on Mushroom Bay, you could idle away your days just enjoying yourself with its close proximities. The rooms are deliciously decorated in detail, the bathrooms ample and large, and the staff is more than accommodating. On the premises is a covered, open air restaurant with appetizers around 30,000 RH and Main Dishes starting at around 50,000 RH. They are stocked with a fine selection of international wines. The staff informed me that there are occasional rate specials that one can find on the internet or through a travel agent. Since my planning of my trip to Bali from Europe, I was seduced by the photographs that I saw of Coconut Beach Resort. But being on a tight budget, it was a bit out of my price range. Their marketing is very aggressive and could probably say works quite well. They are all over the internet, in the travel guides and you may find their pamphlet in various hotels in different parts of Bali. Since I had found an accommodation very near by, I decided to take a look for myself and confirm the pricing that I had found on a confusing pamphlet stating that there was a special for $28 pp. without A/C. Upon my arrival at the reception, there was three staff… seemingly to be busy doing something else. Finally one asked me if I desired anything. I showed him the pamphlet that I had found, and he clarified that it was $28 p.p. in other words $28 x 2 people. Then I asked to see a bungalow anyway, and winded up following him around in circles while he wandered off to do other things. I decided to stop and climb up a take a look for myself. I was very disappointed in the grounds that looked a bit tired and some litter had not been cleaned up. When I was about ready to leave, another staff finally arrived with a key to show me a room. By then, I decided I had seen enough. A couple of nights later, I decided to pass by for a meal. The prices were higher than in the main town. But I am willing to pay a little more for a good meal. I ordered a juice, which was good. The main Indonesian dish that I had ordered, again was disappointing and I left my dish basically untouched. There were no inquiries if I disliked what I had ordered, if desired to order something else in exchange, but rather was just given the full bill. For the $56-$75 USD that is charged per room, I truly believe you would be paying more than your money’s worth. Especially when you have right next door a private villa at about the same price.
None...it just looks good in the brochure. Leave a Comment
