The Point Nusa Lembongan: Private Villa Nusa Lembongan

I've just returned from 5 days on Nusa Lembongan and can not rave about the place we stayed enough. Located about 10 minutes walk from Mushroom Bay, "The Point" is a group of 4 Villas surrounding a central lounge, dining area and a large terrace for sun-baking infront of the infinity pool with amazing views (day and night) back over Sanur, Bali and Mount Agung.

The Rooms were very well appointed with plenty of storage/baggage space, a large indoor bathroom as well as a beautiful open air shower and vanity basin. Large, flat-screen TV's and your own private balcony for each unit as well as amazingly comfortable beds.

Better still, the staff were brilliant; not intrusive but so very, very friendly and could not do enough for you. They also make the best daiquiris I think I've ever had; mango or berries. All of the staff are locals born and bred on Lembongan and the Manager, Komang, was fantastic in arranging anything we wanted included Scooters for around AUD7 per day.

The website for the property is

Mushroom Beach Bungalows: Economiacal and amazing views!

As the name says,
these bungalows are located
on the cliff right at Mushroom Beach,
one of the nicest beaches
in Nusa Lemobongan.

The view is beautiful!

The bungalows are also neighboring
some of the nicest hotels of the island,
with the upscale price.

There are several bungalows available
at different prices and category,
so the best is to contact them
directly and ask for prices.

Some are newer than others,
a few of them have air-con,
while the latest bungalow built,
is the largest.

On my last visit,
they were also installing a pool.

In the bungalow that we stayed in,
there was also hot water,
and we paid 350,000 Rp the night,
but there were cheaper ones.
Just not as nice and large
as the one that we stayed in.

The Indonesian owner, Made is
often on the premises making sure
that things are running smoothly.

He also provides transportation
between Nusa Lombongan and Sanur (Bali).

Located within the same area as the most expensive resorts on the island

Mutiara Villa: Somewhere in between beaches

One would think
by the name that
these are villas,
but they are not.

I guess you could say that
these are newer,
hotel type bungalows.

The property has a selection
of different type of bungalows
of different sizes and prices.

They don’t have direct
access to the beach,
but with a pleasant walk
on the pedestrian path,
you can reach them.

Most of the rooms have sea views
due to the fact that they
are built at different levels
perched on the hill.

We saw the Family Room and Sky Bed bungalow,
which was fairly new,
and looked like an apartment
that one would find in
a highly densely populated
European city.

The pool didn’t look very clean.
But the option was there.

Rooms have air-con, TV, hot water,
mini-bars, safety box and telephone.

Prices range from:
$49-$60 for he Standard Rooms
$120-$150 for the Suit Villa
to the Honey Moon Villa

Villa Sayang: Going upscale

I recently returned
to Nusa Lembongan
after a 3 year absence and
it was interesting to see
the recent developments
on the island.

One very pleasant surprise was
to find the new Villa Sayang,
giving visitors the option
to indulge in comfort, privacy and luxury.

This new villa has a very large
living room and dining area
located under a bale
offering serene sea views.

There is an adjacent pool,
to cool off during those sunny days.

The villa also offers
4 separate large bedrooms,
that can be either be rented
separately or all together
for families or a group of friends.

The staff is there to serve meals and
to maintain your comfort.

This villa is a definite good choice!

Extra features include internet, cable TV

Prices at the time of my visit were,
$150 per night per single room
and $500 a night for the entire villa

Privacy
Very Clean
Brand New

Coconuts Beach Resort: Fantastic Pool and Views!

Coconuts Beach Resort is part of the Island Explorer Cruises. It is located on the cliffs overlooking the bay of Nusa Lembongan. The resort is ~ a 30 minute walk into town.

The service was good (typical for an average place on Bali).

The rooms are overpriced for what you get. They are fairly clean, but plain. The rooms are individual structures that are round with a thatched roof. They have nice big windows, open air bathrooms, and security boxes. Some of the rooms come with airconditioning. The door to the bathrooms is open on the top and the bottom, which allows the cooler room air to escape easily and also lets in mosquitoes. The beds come with mosquito netting.

I get the impression that Coconuts Beach Resort charges so much because they have somewhat of a captive audience. They seem to cater to tourists who are not really independent travelers. These tourists buy the "fun package" to come over to Nusa Lembongan for the day and enjoy the water activities. Island Explorer Cruises sells them on the idea of spending the night at the resort. Of course, independent travelers can stay at the resort.

The food at the restaurant was pretty good, which was convenient since the town was a somewhat difficult walk at night (uneven dirt path with quite a few turns that are easy to miss in the dark).

The best part of Coconuts Beach Resort is the swimming pools. They have two fantastic infinity pools that seem to literally drop right off the cliff into the sea.

The view from the resort and the rooms is quite nice- looing over the sea and partially onto the village of Nusa Lembongan. The only drawback on the view is that it faces north, so the position isn't great for watching the sunset.
