Mimpi Resort Menjangan: A place called Dreams

Hidden away on Bali's north coast, just opposite Menjangan Island and next to Bali Barat national Park, is Mimpi's newest dive resort and spa, the Mimpi Resort Menjangan. All of Mimpi Resort Menjangan's 24 courtyard villas feature their own hot tub from the local thermal spring. A large hot water pool in landscaped gardens caters to the guests of the 30 patio rooms.

We stayed in a courtyard villa which comes with a king size bed with canopy, a wonderful bathroom with outdoor shower and our very own hot tub that combined a daybed and a lovely lotus pond. The water in the hot tub comes from natural hot springs so there is a moderate sulphur smell in the garden of the villa but after a while you'll get used to it.

This is a sprawling resort. One needs to walk very far to get to breakfast but the views here are spectacular. Service is friendly but the restaurant food is standard hotel fare which I was not impressed with.

For US$155, we get the courtyard villa and breakfast. Very pricey and we would actually stay somewhere cheaper the next time as most of the time we are out. See Mimpi travelogue for resort photos.
