It has a free form swimming pool plus a jacuzzi. Good service and you get to view the sunrise/sunset everday!! Its parent hotel-- Banyu Biru Villa is a recommended hotel too, for those who travel in 4-6 a group. Huge villa with a private swimming pool. And you get free buggy rides... Friendly staff who brought us around the whole island at night to look at the other hotels available. We went star-gazing together too. Beautiful...!

The perfect Getaway from Singapore
by bkarjee about Nirwana Hotel Resort, Bintan Islands
Nirwana Garden Resorts is basically a collection of five resorts, which are all located in the northern part of the island. All these resorts are located very close to each other and there is a regular shuttle bus service connecting them roughly at 30 mts interval.
Nirwana Hotel Resort
Banyu Biru Resort,
Mayang Sari Resort
Mana Mana Resort,
Indra Maya Resort.
Each of them provide different types of accomodation, varying from Deluxe Hotel rooms to fully furnished 2 bed room Hall sea facing duplexes with private pool, jaccuzzi and lot of other 5 star comforts.
At the Nirwana Hotel Resort, the reception was crowded with holiday goers, this being the super peak season of holidays. Deepawali and Hari Raya was falling in the same week and there could’nt have been a better time to go for holidays for Singapore residents. We arrived at the reception at 1300 hrs only to be told that the rooms are not ready till 1430 hrs (Check out time 1200 hrs, check in time 1500 hrs). We decided to have lunch at the poolside restaurant and comeback at 1430 hrs.
The lunch at the poolside restaurant was very good (a mix of Western, Chinese and Indonesian food) although the service was slightly slow on account of the heavy crowd. The atmosphere was very relaxing.
Eating options at Bintan Resorts are plentiful and there is a whole range of Asian food available. Each of the Resort has few restaurant within its premises and lemme tell you, they are more expensive then the local Singapore Restaurants of the same category. A more detailed account of food and beverages options is included in the ‘Restaurant’ section of the travel tips Nirwana Hotel Resort has all the facilities that a hotel in its category can provide. They have tastefully decorated swimming pool, one for adults and one for kids, jaccuzzi, children club area, gaming area, Gymnasium, spa and a lot more to keep everybody occupied.
Nirwana resort has a fully equipped Kids Club Center at the clubhouse. They take in kids 4-8 years old and involve them in fish feeding, face painting, drawing and coloring, mask making, story telling, sand castle building. All this is enough for the kids to be busy for the day.
Internet connectivity is available at the business center at the Nirwana Hotel Resort.

Car Hire+guide to Tanjung Pinang
by zenani
Hi,
I wonder if anyone knows if it is possible to hire a driver cum guide for a day tour to Tanjung Pinang and Pengareng (?) . My family of 7 to 8 will be there in Dec06. Many of the day tours look too expensive for us.
Also has anyone been to the Mangrove tour organised by the resorts. The agenda says 2 hrs, which sounds a bit short. Is it for good value?
Thanks.
