I didn’t stay here. Tanuhi is around 7-8 kilometer before Loksado. You will reach Tanuhi first before you arrive in Loksado. The charm of this place is bungalows and hot pool for visitors to have a dip. Surrounding is bamboo forest and crystal clear stream. Charming!. The place is suitable for those who seek silent sanctuary. There is small warung nearby for having meals. The place is usually the last stop for bamboo rafting trip from Loksado. Price starts from Rp 250,000. Tanuhi Cottage (081351800870).
Kandangan is small sub-district in South Kalimantan. For public transportation user to Loksado, Kandangan is a place to look for connecting transportation to Loksado. As it was getting late and wherever I went, people advised not to go to Loksado when the sun disappear, I decided to stay in Kandangan. One of the recommended places to stay in Kandangan is Wisma Meutia, run by husband and wife. The small lodge is located behind the terminal. There are choices for the room, with AC or non-AC, attach bathroom or not. Price starts from Rp 175,000 with breakfast included. The room is clean and helpful owner helped me to find Ojek to go to Loksado the day after.
Wisma Loksado is located in the entrance of Loksado village. The two-storey building is built in the small delta island in the middle of three river streams. The stream is clear and refreshing, you can’t avoid temptation to have a dip. The hotel has around 16 rooms. Typical of the rooms are double wooden bed with attach bed room and generally clean and quite comfortable. Towel and blanket are provided. No breakfast provided, but small dotted warungs in the area are walking distance. Don’t forget to check the water tap. During low season, water tap is off. Price is Rp 250,000 nett per night. Contact number (if the manager doesn’t change phone number) is 081348943728.
The river is located between three streams
Amaris hotel is still chain of Santika hotel, one of big hotel chains in Indonesia. The hotel location in Jalan Ahmad Yani kilometer 7 is in the border between Banjarmasin city and Banjarbaru district. As Jalan Ahmad Yani is big, busy and long, don’t expect quiet sanctuary. The hotel is newly opened when I stayed there, so I enjoyed fresh scent of the room, clean and equipped with Wifi. Next to the hotel is restaurants and traditional market is on the back. Traveling to the city center, you can use “Ojek”, motorcycle, with price of Rp 5,000 - 10,000, depend where you go. The hotel is also near Terminal Pal 6, a bus and public car transportation hub to other places in South, Central and East Kalimantan.
Victoria hotel is located in Jalan Lambung Mangkurat, one of main roads in the Banjarmasin city and prime location. Although the hotel is not as new as other newly opened hotels in the same road, Victoria hotel still keeps its charm. Backside of the hotel is Martapura river, where you can enjoy river activities from the window of the hotel. What I like from staying in the hotel is the view, central location (as I can walk everywhere to the market, bank, eating place-although it’s fried chicken outlet, well, pretty good if you are desperately hungry-) and good service. Check their promotion offer as you step in the hotel reception.
Date of stay: April 2004
I stayed in a room on the ground floor. It seemed fairly clean and there was air conditioning in the rooms.
I asked if there was a bar to go to in the evening and they took me upstairs to a locked cabinet where they kept a bottle of whisky - I think they thought I was an alcoholic.
There weren't any particular facilities here, but considering its location in Banjarmarsin it was just nice to have somewhere clean and air-conditioned to stay.
There was a restaurant on the ground floor with a view on to the main street. It served nasi goreng and other standards.
I would probably stay there again.
i like this place since the very first time. not about luxurious thing but the comfiness.
wooden room, means the bricks covered with wood and also the roof. 3 bed in a room with aircon, excluded toilet about rp 75,000. nice :)
Well it is a ** hotel. BUT that doesn't say anything overhere. Different way of giving the stars. (stars depend on size , swimming pool , number of chambers....)
This is the best hotel in Banjarmasin. It is quit new and the restaurant has a great vieuw towards the water.
At the other side of the hotel you can find the biggest shopping mall of the city and under the hotel there are some souvenir shops.
The breakfast is great.
As you know Indonesian people always eat warm dishes. So the morning starts with a range of stands where you can get different plates.
So , make your own soto surabaya...go to the chef and ask for and omelet and point out what you want in it. Baked rice , or delicious fruit and vegetables....
Don't forget the vegetarian dish.
I tried to reservate it... by fax and mail. That is hopeless in Indonesia (same experience in Jakarta). You wont get a confirmation. Just use the stand in the airport or go over right away.
A room cost us 280000 IR - a very reasonable price for that luxury. And we asked to have an extra bed 75OOO IR.
We also used the laundry facility. That went also very efficient.
(prices are cheap for europeans - the minimun pay in bjm is 380000 ir - just to let you know :-))
