Jakarta - Puncak - Bandung

by Vkumar33

My Family and I will be arriving to Jakarta from KL on 12/12/08 at night then proceed to Puncak on the 13th morning and staying a night in Puncak and move on to Bandung on the 14th and staying 2 nights thus move back on to Jakarta on the 16th till 20th. Total 9 days 8 Nights Tour.

Would appreciate if someone could advice me if my travel planning is ok? Is 1 night in Puncak is sufficient ? Is 2 nights in Bandung is sufficient or 3 nights? What would the weather condition be so then we can prepare on the clothings? For shopping purposes - what are the things that are much cheaper in Bandung then buying it in Jakarta?

Appreciate the advice.
Rgds

Its depend on what you prefer shopping or relax.
1. Puncak, cool climate around 22-25 celcius. If you prefer to see the country side with tea plantation view then this area is recommended. you can stay in the tea plantation area and visit the factory. Try to taste Cimory milk and enjoy dinner in this restaurant. Also if you like Zoo, then there is a Taman Safari Zoo.Also have some factory outlet.
2. Bandung, of course interested city. Famous with the factory outlet, try the Sundanese food in Cihampelas walk, Sapu Lidi and there is a lot of traditional food along Dago. Also you can visit Tangkupan Perahu, Ciwedey then visit the straberry farm and from Bandung direct to Jakarta there is a highway. Enjoy the view very nice.
3. But the cheapest area for shopping garments is in Mangga Dua Jakarta.
It is better for you to rent a van like Kijang. please try to contact www.cipaganti.co.id.
Hope this info can help.

This is the rainy season. Be sure to bring a raincoat for the occasional shower. And if you are unlucky you might have dark clouds and rain in the Puncak area.
Cheers.

Puncak: That's a pic of my Indonesian buddy/hostess and I enjoying a typical Indonesian meal (at lunch) - al fresco style. Shortly after, a thick fog practically enveloped the whole resort town and we had to rush in to the restaurant to finish our meal.... (we couldn't even see what we were feasting on with the thick fog around us!).

P.S. Did you notice the THICK FOG behind us??? In the photo below, it looks as if our backs are facing against the white wall, right? Nooooo. That's the THICK FOG I was referring to!!!

Passer Baroe

by black_mimi99

Passer Baroe today known as Pasar Baru was build in 1960 as a "real mall" with classic architectural design. Passer Baroe is famous as a place to buy shoes, textiles, sports goods, glasses and all kinds of watches and clocks. A cross the canal of this area, we can find the "Gedung Kesenian" Jakarta Arts Theatre which regularly stages prestigious art and cultural performances.
