A very hip hotel
I really loved this hotel. The lobby is so slick and minimalist. A lot of wood and beautiful lights-almost looks European. The rooms are stunning and come with a comfy bed. There is a nice gym with juice bar. The pool is on the top floor-doesn't offer the greatest views due to the smog. The only downside, which didn't bother me, was that the hotel isn't located in the business, tourist or shopping area. It's surrounded by homes or local businesses-close to the National Monument.

Central location away from the upscale hotel area
The Alila Jakarta is a very hip and modern upscale hotel, with large well-furbished rooms and a pretty decent pool. The location is between the civic district and old town, which makes it convenient for accessing both. It is not near any high-end shopping malls or any of the other luxury hotels, but for me that was a good thing (especially after last year's bombing of the Jakarta Marriott). The neighborhood is more local, but still quite safe. Within walking distance of independence park and the national museum.
An all around good hotel.
