In Jarkata/Bandung by shoestringbudget
I guess people that I met in my short trip to Jakarta cum Bandung were really nice and helpful.For e.g. When u bargain at shops (not in the malls obviously and not easy if u're not a local) and decided not to buy for whatever reasons they wouldn't "give u a face"...
and they are helpful when u ask for directions...
However, spoke to a couple locals there and were many a times cautioned to not walk the streets, be careful, etc. etc.
I don't really think Jakarta is a tourist-friendly place; unlike Bali (which ve got friends raving abt it)... but if u happen to be in Jakarta I guess u shld just err on the side of caution and think twice before going off-the-beaten-tracks.
I know I wldn't.
