No Frills

Hotel Formule 1 is a no-frills hotel located in Menteng, Central Jakarta so it is very close to the Central Business District.

It is located in the building that used to be a mall (Plaza Menteng) until it is renovated into a hotel, which opened in September 2006. It is under the management of Accor hotels.

They have a total of 135 rooms located in three floors (117 double rooms and 18 triple rooms– double plus a bunk bed). They do not have rooms for non-smokers so if you don't smoke or are allergic to smoke, this hotel is not for you.

The room rates are as follows (updated as of April 2009):
STANDARD ROOM (double queen bed)
Rp 314,000 nett room only (rate applicable from Sunday to Thursday)
Rp. 325,000 (rate applicable on Friday and Saturday)

STANDARD TRIPLE ROOM WITH DOUBLE BUNK BED
Rp 369,000 nett (rate applicable from Sunday to Thursday)
Rp 380,000 neet (Friday and Saturday rate)

For an additional Rp 25,000, they now provide boxed breakfast of nasi goreng (fried rice) or mie goreng.

There is a phone in the room for room-to-room and incoming calls. There’s also a cable TV (Indovision) with 7 channels (BBC, HBO, Star Sports, MTV, Metro TV, TransTV and RCTI).

For food, there are cafes and restaurants at the ground floor (Starbucks Cafe, Pizza Marzano, Oh LaLa Café (24 hours), Sisha Café and Hot Shots Grilled Burger. You will also find the popular warungs (street eateries) at the adjacent street where you can have nasi goreng, bubur ayam, rujak, etc. Other restaurants across are Sate Senayan and Thamnak Thai.

For Internet, you can use the Wi-Fi connection in Starbucks and Oh La La Café.

The Batik Keris department store is next door and the Hero Supermarket is across. The Menteng Park is also next to it.
