    Best Family Accomodation

    by

I stayed at the 3 bedroom Suite. Room complete with kitchen utensils, microwave, washing machine, hob and kettle.

Its clean n suitable for family with children.

Unique Quality: its juz minutes away from the Plaza Semanggi and at the front of the hotel there is an eatery where you can always get a snack or meal. Pool is juz next to the cafe.

by NottyNana2010

hi.. i'll travelling to indonesia on this 20-25/11/2010 for the 3rd time... and this time i'll come with a friend who never been to indonesia yet. Wish to bring him to bogor(puncak) for a daytrip... any suggestion?.. and i am interested with the Damri bus service.. but if i would like to go to Bogor by 'Damri' bus maybe on our 3rd day in jakarta, and we might stay in central jakarta during our vacation.. Do we need to go to airport again just to take Damri Bus to Bogor? let me know plss.. :-) @ u can email me at notty_nana_notty_me@yahoo.com TQVM

Hi,
Since you will already in Central Jakarta, it's better to go to Bogor by train.
There is a nice train call Pakuan Express, and you can hop on to it from Gambir station.
It will be more convenient and time saving than the Damri bus from airport.
I hope it helps
cheers

hi sukalejong... thanks for the info..

ya actually i did servay about the train also... but i wish to enjoy the moment and panaroma along jakarta-bogor road... Last time i went to jakarta from bandung also by train, and all i can see was only the paddy fields... wish to have different view for this time.. hehe~ btw, the train and bus station in Bogor is it at the same place?.. if i'm not mistaken the botanical garden is near the bus station right? (correct me if i'm wrong).. so i thought it would be much easier to go there by bus (unless the train station at the same area with the bus station)

Hi Notty Nana,

Please do not get the DAMRI bus if you are short on time - there are usually traffic jams - I know I have been caught in many of them and it is very frustrating.
Honestly best to catch the train and you can still see the scenery.
Next year when I return to Indonesia I am seriously considering staying overnight in Jalan Jaksa Jakarta and then getting the morning train down to Bogor - I really cannot bear the thought of taking 3-4 hrs to get to Bogor from the airport like I experienced from 4pm one afternoon in late Oct 2009.

If you wish to get the DAMRI bus from Bogor back to the airport please leave about 3 hrs for the trip.
Best to get the afternoon train back to Gambir and the DAMRI bus leave Gambir station for airport- takes about 1-1.5 hrs to get to the airport. Did this trip in May 2008.

Hi Again,

No, the train station and the bus station are in different areas.
But you can get the local transport from the train station up to see the Kebun Raya Gardens and from there get another local bus to the DAMRI bus station if you choose to return to the airport with Damri from Bogor.
Not difficult at all.
Pamela.

Me again.
Bogor and Puncak are two different places. Puncak is near Cipanas and about 1+ hrs from Bogor.
Are you planning on going to both places?

WEDDING RECEPTION!

by lmkluque

A friend of Sri’s, related to the bride, invited me to a Traditional Javanese Wedding: A Muslim 'wedding' is a matter of the father of the bride, the father of the groom, the groom and an Imam signing the contract. The bride isn’t necessarily even around. There is of course a reception for the Bride and Groom and this is what I was invited to.

The Reception room, located in Manggala Wanabakti was large and decorated with full sized palm trees and flowers made to look like an Island. It was the most extravagant décor I had ever seen and it was quite impressive.

At the Entrance there were more than a dozen of these beautiful greetings to the bride and groom made completly of flowers!

This is Harianto!

by belgianchocolate about In the harbor , Sunda Kelapa...

We met Harianto in the harbor. He was walking along with us and telling about the ships here...the history. Altough he learned English from the tourist , he is quit good at it.

Ofcourse his main goal is to earn some money. Why not? He is selling wooden boats and cards made by himself from bananaskin and batik. (3 euro for a package) - no money for original , authentic cards.

I like it when people are creative! Cards , gifts , souvenirs... 30 000ir or....
