Truely Economical
Small but so nice and clean hotel at the most attractive tourist area of Jakarta the central, nice large rooms and attached bath room, all the tourist attractions and eating/drinking places are nearby that makes this hotel a perfect choice for travellers on limited budget, the rates are IDR 325,000 (around $36) for Delux Room Twin or King Size Bed for 2 Including Buffet Breakfast. Standard Room @ IDR265,000.00 (US$30.00)

If you don't find anything better...
The Cipta is very central, cheaper than the pther I mentioned before but sure not a great place, stayed there just for the position and because it was high season and finding vacancies in central hotels was not easy.Anyway I don't reccommend this place so much.
Let's say it's not cleantest place of the world.

2 Nights in Jakarta - Cheap Hotel / Apartment
I just would like to check, where i could find a cheap place to stay for 8 persons 3 adult and 5 kids (age 5 - 13 yrs old)
Preferable close to town of jakarta and Room budget is less than USD50/nights / room
Clean and nice backpack area will be considered as well as we need a room only for sleep and we will be going around town during the day.
I will be going to Jakarta in a week time, so urgent respond is needed and appreciate with your help

You can try Jalan Jaksa at Central Jakarta, there are many guest houses and budget Hotel (Hotel Kraya is the cheapest among the hotel)
Or Yannie International Guest House at 35, Jalan Raden Saleh, Cikini area, (oopsit Rumah Sakik Cikini)110,000 IDR Aprx (these days 1 US$ = around 9200 IDR)
If you want to spend US$50.00/Night- 2 person for Hotel then you can get many better hotels, One is Hotel Cipta at Jalan Wahid Hasyim (near Jalan Jaksa, 5 minutes walk to Sarinah Mall)for less then US$50.00 or may be IBIS Tamarind too on same road.
