calamansi lime juice
by BikkleYunker
the calamansi limes (or are they blood oranges?) are sort of burnt siena (read: dark orange) coloured and taste mainly sweet with a bit of tart to boot. highly recommended, especially from streetside stalls I'd have to say inhaling the bike exhaust while drinking my calamansi juice. BAGUS

In Jakarta of course much restaurants- but what are eating the so much people working in that area?
So are much street sellers there, who offers the typical local food there in much differnt kinds.
So here at noon near the big office towers we meet this Ibu offering local "nasi goreng" in palm leaves - see the photo.
I think much little employee in the offices have not much free lunch time and so like to use this kind to get a delicious lunch.

Tour of the Jakarta Institute of Art
by lmkluque
Sri took me on a short tour of the school. We came to the Mosque. (I had never been in one and she, a Muslim, said it would be okay for me to see it.)
Out side of the prayer room there was a walkway and on the left the wash room. (Muslims wash before praying.) So, between the Mosque and wash room there was a walkway. We had gone no more than half way when a little old man came rushing out of the wash room yelling at us!!(of course, I didn’t understand a word, and was shocked at the ranting of the sarong clad Imam.)
Sri, a petite, agile lady slipped the shoes from her feet and told me that the Imam’s outburst was to tell us our shoes must be off while in the Mosque!!!!
Oh! Because of my bulky size and weakened condition from illness, I couldn’t slip the shoes off gracefully, as Sri did. I needed to sit down to take them off. What a dilemma! Standing in the middle of the yellow tiled walkway, what would be the proper thing, return to the starting point and take off my shoes or continue on and exit the Mosque as quickly as possible? I chose the former, went back, and took off my shoes, then continued on.
Outside of the Mosque, Sri relieved the tension I felt, by laughing. She told me that the walkway was not part of the Mosque and she was sure the old man saw me—a westerner—and wanted to impress me. (He did, and I’ll NEVER enter any Mosque area with my shoes on again!)

At 70,000 square meters, this is one of Jakarta's biggest and busiest shopping malls and arguably the most prestigious mall north of Plaza Indonesia.
The mall houses a branch of the popular Japanese-based department store chain, Sogo and has unique themed floors. "Fashion Hub," the theme on the 2nd floor offers everything from upscale, traditional batiks to the most glorious evening gowns. Whereas on the 3rd Floor "Catwalk" themed, youngsters will be ecstatic to find a wide range of casual wears.
The mall is strategically located next to Gading Food City, also known as Jakarta's seafood mecca, where you can find everything from traditional rujak, dim sum, to pastas, all at reasonable prices.
