Firstly, its in the middle of the main shopping plazas of Plaza Senayan, Plaza Indonesia and Plaza Semanggi.
No problem getting taxis. The Silver Bird taxis are readily available at the driveway. The Blue Bird Taxis can be obtained too - just ask the Slightly Heavy Bell Hop who looks like Baloo (in the Jungle Book ) in a suit. A very friendly guy and very helpful too (esp helpfull after slipping a Rp3000 tip)
Superb Front desk service and the staff is always smiling, helping the guests in their "unusual needs" eg pressing the lift buttons, ever ready to get you the newspaper which you missed and friendly service. If you chat with bellhops in Bahasa Indonesia, you'll have a very interesting conversation in Bahasa Indonesia, of course.
While I was there, there were countless functions from embassy officials celebrating their national day to wedding ceremonies. Some look like movie stars
The rooms are nicely "packaged" to fit your ever needs. Every day, without fail, and even though you have yet to "utilise" that bar of soap, bottle of shampoo or body lotion, mouthwash, bath gel - YOU WILL ALWAYS GET A FRESH SET. Unlike some hotels which the housekeeoig are under strict instrctions not to provide fresh bottles unless utilised.
If you want to be adventurous, you can take the Busway at the "Setia Budi" stop which is about 800 to 900 metres away from the hotel. Pay Rp2500 and Off you go to Plaza Indonesia. You can't do that for Plaza Senayan though.
A definite place to stay for elegance and convenience.
The restaurants at the hotel offers choices for your taste buds. From Lebanese to Japanese to the good old American Grill
The breakfast at the Brasserie is nicely done too. You can just have the nicest breakfast (without overstuffing yourself) and have a relaxing time.
