3-Dimensional Wooden Puppets
by RoyJava
Maybe because of some weird tellings about Wayang puppets (made from leather or wood) and its specific mythical function I never was attracted to these weird looking dolls. Reading about the 3-dimensional wooden Wayang Golek puppets and watching these in Yogyakarta I went for the WAYANG MUSEUM TAMAN FATAHILLAH and learned a lot about these weird looking puppets ... Telling my Wayang Golek attraction to a guy (working as guide) he brought us somewhere between Jakarta and Bogor, to Pak Dase who creates Wayang Golek. It was the couple of WISANGGENI and RUPADI with their protector SATRIA WISANGGENI which were bought and, still one of our utmost great memories!
Sun,. . . . rain, . . . . . umbrellas. . . . !
by kokoryko
Ah the wonderful climate of tropics. . . . It is hot, the sun burns, and suddenly, rain, rain; some days in Jakarta you can experience blue sky and black sky within a few hours. . . . Umbrellas are a very common accessory and many people never go out without; I like a lot to look at people with umbrellas, be it for the rain or the sun. . . it is just nice, has some charm and poesy. Umbrellas are sometimes like stars lost on the tarmac, protect the kids from the sun, . . . . . they are part of life here. . .
Klub Golf Senayan
by chiabh
The Senayan Golf Club is located in Central Jakarta just opposite the Senayan Plaza... Designed by J. Michael Poellet, the par-70 course plays to 6,158 yds from the blue tees... The First Nine plays to 3,207 yds while the Second Nine to 2,951 yds... The course is short and rather tight due to its city location... It's fairway is of cow grass and well-kept... A monoon drain cuts aross the course at many holes...
Senayan is a caddy course... The clubhouse is spacious and airy... It has the usual men and ladies changing rooms which are quite big and comfortable... There is the open air Golfer's Terrace and the air-conditioned International Terrace Restaurant... There is a lso a small pro-shop for golfing needs...

* Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). If you're only have a short time to visit Indonesia and landed at Jakarta, try to go to TMII --because this area showing you Indonesia in miniatures (but not like miniature buildings on Madurodam, Netherland :)). So you can feel pure 'little Indonesia' there! Added with Keong Mas IMAX theatre inside.
* Picture is about Nick (VTer NickIng) and I plus the green stick 'baton_east' after Nick visited Taman Mini Indonesia Indah :)
Cruising or shopping?
by Goldenboy about Plaza Senayan
This is Jakarta’s most popular up market mall, situated very centrally in South Jakarta with a fantastic array of goods and services. I wonder why this mall is always full. And for us, it’s an easiest place to meet friend coincidentally. Of course, then it’s become a cruising place for teenage, even older ;) It houses two excellent department stores, Metro and Sogo, score of quality women’s and men’s fashion, children’s clothes and toys, sports apparels, book stores, art and gift srtores, music, cinema, health and beauty stores, and home décor. It also has a huge foodcourt, cinema, bowling alley, and some great dining restaurants. For simple: this mall means high quality branded shops, restaurants, and very popular place to meet.
