Garden in the city

What attracted me to stay here is how green it is. Jakarta Hilton comes with sprawling lush gardens as it has residence apartments sharing these grounds. If you take the lower floor rooms, you can sometimes forget that you're in one of the busiest, most highly populated cities in the world.

Here's an excerpt from its website :
The Jakarta Hilton embodies the royal splendor of the classical Indonesian royal court,
and the crisp expressions of contemporary interior designs.

The Main Tower entrance hall echoes the traditional warm welcome of an ancient palace,
propelling you back to an era long gone with the milky timbre of the gamelan orchestra and earnest greetings.

The Sultan Hotel Jakarta

Though the name has changed, it seems that the quality of service has not. I didn't actually stay at this hotel, but I did eat here several times and saw a lot of the public access areas of the building.

If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this will fit the bill. Elegance throughout and I saw that this is one of the places with the big "No Durian In Room" signs.

Unique Quality: Okay, from my point of view, the best aspect of this hotel is their Indonesian Buffet!! The flavors are beyond description and the atmostphere is pure luxury.

Those of you who might consider a stay here, should know it is the largest hotel in Jakarta, offers Five Star service, has many restaurants, lounges and though I prefer the traditional Indonesian cuisine, they serve others, like French cuisine.

Most impressive is that They offer package deals and you can stay in this Five Star hotel for the price you'd ordinairly pay for a mid-rated hotel in the USA!

The air conditioned lobby is a lifesaver at first, however, like every other place in Jakarta, it seems that the thermostat is set pretty high and the initial cool feeling doesn't last more than five or ten minutes. Maybe that is one of the reasons they won the Green Hotel Award?

best location in Jakarta

Don't be fooled by its name. Despite carrying the Hilton brand name, a few years ago after conflict of interests with the Indonesian management, Hilton International decided to drop this hotel and the Hilton Bali from its property list. The hotel is permitted to continue carrying the Hilton name although the Hilton International doesn't directly manage this hotel anymore. Despite that, the hotel remains a pleasant place to stay.

The hotel is actually three hotels rolled into one, each with a separate lobby and separate check-in area. The main tower boasts an elegant lobby decorated by teak wood from Kudus, Central Java. The Garden Tower is the smallest of the three and boasts garden views. The Lagoon Tower is the newest addition with modern lobby and arguably the best rooms. All the rooms are large and are very comfortable. The hotel has many many restaurants, including two cafes, an Indonesian restaurant, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese. The meticulous garden surrounding the hotel provides an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Jakarta. The staff is friendly and attentive and wears traditional costumes from all over Indonesia.

The hotel is centrally located in the South West side of the Semanggi Interchange, so you'll get easy access to the rest of Jakarta. The businesses of Jalan Sudirman is just a stone's throw away and so is the shopping complexes of Plaza Semanggi and Plaza Senayan. The hotel is also linked to Jakarta's largest convention center and close to the Parliament building and the Senayan sports complexes, which makes the hotel very popular year-round with convention travellers, parliament members, and athletes. Entertainment-wise, the hotel is also nearby the Taman Ria Senayan entertainment complex.

All in all, despite being one of the oldest international standard hotel in Jakarta, Jakarta Hilton International remains a popular place for Jakartans and for visitors to stay.

Hilton Jakarta

Unique Quality: Five star service but way to big. It so huge that you can easely get lost. The lobby area has some indonesian theme with Gamelan players
