Suka Beach Inn
Hi,
I am going to Bali in 2 weeks and I heard Suka Beach Inn is a cheap and fun place to stay. I can't find any link online to book a room. Has anyone ever stayed here before?
I'm in Bali for 10 days. Does anyone have a good recommendations of where to go or something of interest to see. I don't know anything about Bali.

The KUTA area is where you will find many cheap hostels & backpacker accommodation. Its on the beach, and is party paradise.
In Bali- many many things to see and do. Read up on some VT pages regarding Bali.
Watch some traditional folk dancing..
Go and see the craftsmen at work in beautiful green Ubud area (in the mountains)- a good place for lunch or tea.
There are tours that go into the rice paddies, where you can have a traditional Balinese tea feast.
Plenty of temples and monuments.
Its a good idea to hire a car with driver- not at all expensive, and they know all the places to take you to. Get some quotes from different drivers first.

Suka Beach Inn is in Jalan Benasari, right in the heart of Kuta, but it's not on the beach :-)) July and August are high season, so they might be full. There is a review which mentions rooms at $5, I would suggest that this time of year you'll probably be paying something like $10 per night, which should include some kind of breakfast, and that's cheap.

Suka Beach Inn is a great place to stay but the chances of getting a room at this short notice is slim as it is a favourite with surf travellers. There are many 'hostel' style hotels, or losmen as they are known locally all around Kuta/Legian and the majority cost between 50,000 and 100,000 per night, depending on facilities. To be honest, the chances of finding accomodation of any description in the Kuta area at such short notice might be difficult, depending on your budget and the size of your tour party.
There's plenty to do in Bali! Best not to plan too much in advance as plans usually go astray in Bali. Hopefully you do manage some accomodation in the Kuta/Legian district as this is deservingly known as the fun strip of Bali and is a great place to base yourself to explore from, especially for your first visit. As a minimum I'd recommend visiting the Safari Park, Bali Bird and Reptile Park, Uluwatu, Bedugul, Besakih and Tanah Lot temples, Kintamani volcano and just about anywhere higher up in the mountains for awesome rice padi vista's. If your a surfer, there's plenty of waves to chase and if your a scuba diver there's plenty of opportunities for that also.
