This will be my second time to Bali. Had stayed in Kuta area during my first visit and I planned to stay in Ubud this time.
I have shortlisted a few hotel within my budget of below USD 100. Can someone tell me which is better and if they are close to town. Or if you have suggestions of hotel within my budget.
- d'Omah hotel Bali
- Biyukukung Suites and Spa
- Pertiwi Resort & Spa
One important factor (may sound silly for tropical country) is that the hotel must not be mozzie infested. My hubby attracts mozzies easily (dunno why, he can get bitten like 10 times and I get nothing) and he gets very irritated if the hotel is infested by them. Repellent doesn't help much.
I will also be doing a bicycle trip and would like to have some other ideas of what else I can do in Ubud and Bali. I have been to the usual places like Tanah Lot, Kitamani and won't be visiting them again.
Many thanks in advance!
Nowhere in Bali is Mozzy free, and especially Ubud, due to the location, moisture and the flora and Fauna, makes it ideal for them. If repellant isn't much use, then it is going to be uncomfortable for him. The coastal areas especially around Jimbaran/Uluwatu/Bukit etc, are probably the least mozzy infested areas.
hello...sorry but what is mozzy? i am going there in oct...thks for your info...
just wanna suggest to you, that you must visit itravelindonesia for have reviews and making reservation hotel in bali like ubud. Because I have do that when I was in ubud for 3 nights at Tepi sawah villas.
good luck Jo
Thanks for all your replies. I wasn't expecting a place that 100% mozzie free but probably somewhere that's not close to lakes or paddy field as they may breed in these places.
Capitana, how was Tepi Sawah Villas, and which villa did you stay in? I'll be sure to check itravelindonesia before booking any hotel. Thanks for the tip!
hey Jo,,, I have stay in Padang Tegal Villa. The villa is clean and nice view. The villa location is about 5 minutes from center of Ubud by car and any free shuttle bus.
I like Ubud and i will be back again.
The villa give me some photo and i want share with you at this link:
Good luck and have a nice day
Make sure that the hotel/resort provides mosquito nets for the bed, and make sure you close them. All of Ubud and area is breeding ground for mosquitos. Buy a spray to use in your room especially at night and in the mornings that is when they are most active.

You'll love Ubud, It's a great place..
Do someone know here, the best place in Bali, in order to find a nice and quiet private villa, with pool and near the rice paddies...?
It is for my parents! Budget about 250$/night.
Thank you! :-)
try locating in the Ubud area. I did stay once in Ubud and there was rice terraces, and also Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali....and lots of great eateries as well.
You can check the area of Saba: a little paradise between the sea and the rice paddies...between Ubud and Sanur.
My advise is Peruna Saba villa (http://www.sabavilla.com).
I have been there: the staff is always smiling, the villas are secure and quiet...perfect for relaxing in a
luxury villa. They also have got great SPA massage services.
I will go there again. (and this is not a spam!)
and there is www.balivilla.com
The Ubud region is beautiful indeed.
Though there are stil some warnings on different official sites, I'm right back from Bali and I can assure you it's really secure.
Happy travels to your parents
Biyukukung Resort in Ubud is pretty secluded. I just stayed there a few weeks ago. The rate is decent (about US $40/night) & it is right next to rice terraces (that's the view you get from your room). Your villa is private, 2 floors. Very romantic. Within walking distance to the Monkey Forest & the main shops.
There are only about 10 villas or so on the property so you don't have to worry about crowds of people. I loved my stay there & would love to go there again!! The staff is really friendly too & very helpful.
