Are the penalties Hard on a tourist caught at a Cockfight event or is there no discrimination Was asked if i would like to go to one And are they as Cruel and bloody as some seem to think Any advice would be great Cheers
At some places it is difficult to avoid seeing them, and raising fighting cocks is a mayor pasttime with male balinese, i can´t imagen that there are penalties. The big exitement is the betting (the fights are very short), and you should avoid that, and don´t move your hands (keep them in your pockets), it might mean you are joining the bet! And don´t go with someone you know since 10 minutes to see cockfights, there are some strange gambling tricks in Bali and other southeast Asian countries.
I am sorry but even if you are asked if you would like to go why would you consider. I love Bali and have only been back 5 days from yet another holiday there, I know it has been done for a very long time but to watch a sport that encourages a living creatures to hurt one another that I can't understand.
Thanks Def Will not go
