Bali Hai Sunset Dinner Cruise
I'm planning to go Bali during the dates mentioned. Is Chinese New Year widely celebrated in Bali?
I intend to go Badugul, Bali Bontanical Gardens and i heard that its usually crowded during holidays. is that true? Dont want to be caught in a situation where i cant find accomodation.. Thanks!
Bali is always crowded during the holidays...but the 25th-29th of january is not considered the peak season there..
Bali is a huge island and a lot depends on what you want to do..
Considering the population of Bali is dominantly hindu,it probably wouldnt be celebrated as much as deepavali. The one thing you could be worried about is that you might get tourists from neighbouring countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand flocking there during that period as it is public holidays in those countries.
Although it is not considered peak season, it is now widely considered High Season for the celebration of the Chinese New Year, with many hotels charging High Season surcharges, and because it is a public holiday for many Indonesian of Chinese origin, and as previous poster says there are many people coming from Malaysia etc to celebrate the New Year here, many hotels are already reporting full occupancy for this years Chinese New Yaer.
You should start to looking for your accommodation as soon as possible. However if you are planning on spending all of your time in Bedugul, then you won't have too much problem, as it isn't so popular a destination to stay in, so there would be accommodation available there, but then there wouldn't be so much in the way of celebrations either, because most of the area around Bedugul is either Hindu or Muslim.
good luck & have a great time in Bali.
