More about Kajane Mua Villa Hotel

Loved Kajane

by TripAdvisor Member ece3446

Couldnt agree more with everyone here. Read about Kajane on tripadvisor (thank you TA) and went here for the honeymoon at the start of Jan.
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. And the rooms were simply incredible. Just a tip: Even though the cycles are free, rent a scooter and after seeing Ubud explore the north of Bali.

Romantic hide away in busy Ubud

by TripAdvisor Member Duikertje

We learned about the Kajane through reading reviews on this website. They were ALL great and they have ALL proven to be true. The Kajane Mua is the best experience to be found if youre looking for a Romantic stay.
As we have used The Kajane as start and end of our Indonesia trip, we had the opportunity to stay in two 'different' vila's: The Beji Gita and the Beji Kila. So we know which one is best. Well they are both great, so you can not make a mistake. The differences (our experience) the Gita is a little more privat, the Kila has a better (greener) view. But it's a photo finish.
A tip if you go there: take a bike and go see the scenary outside Ubud. And moreover, experience the warmth and kindness of the Balineese.

Beautiful place!

by TripAdvisor Member Mazworldtraveller

We stayed at the Kajane for our honeymoon. We had an amazing stay. This is by far the best place we have stayed at in Bali, personnally I even prefered it to the Oberoi.

We loved the attention to detail and the nice surprises and gestures from the staff. This is hospitality at its best

Good value for a great villa

by TripAdvisor Member j-lho

I chose to stay in Kajane because I read good reviews on Tripadvisor and I was really satisfied with everything it offered. I stayed in Beji Gita villa for 2 nights. Its really good value (+/-$200) for money, our package including museum tickets, 2 hours spa treatment in villa, candle light dinner and all other basic amenities.
The room was spacious, clean and well decorated, with flowers on the bed when we arrived. It has private pool (3x9m), open-air garden bathtub, separate shower and toilet, which was very convenient for us. The pool facing river, rice field and trees like in the forest.
The staff really took good care of our needs and friendly, they really did a good job.
They provide transportation around ubud, even when we decided to walk around, they still remind us that we could call them up to pick us up if we want to.
The candle light dinner food was divine and the decoration was so beautiful and romantic.
The villa was secluded and private, but sometimes we still could hear people walking outside the fence, for me, that's not a problem because I prefer to know that I still had neighbours around me :)

Highly recommended for honeymooners and couples.
We definitely would love to come back to Kajane Mua on my next visit to Bali.

Loved It !! :)

by TripAdvisor Member Peri-Peri-Oz

We stayed there for 3 nights in August 2006.
We also stayed in August 2005 for 3 nights in a Beji Villa.

We had the Toya Uma Villa, we chose this over the Beji as the pool is a bit more private, even though the view isn't as great as the Beji, we preferred the privacy.

Location is excellent, you walk out the front door straight into the middle of the main stree in Ubud, close to everything.

Kajane offer a free shuttle around Ubud and restaurants if you don't want to walk.

The king bed is huge and they come in at night and turn the bed down and leave slippers/robe out and put flowers on the pillows.

The best thing about Kajane is that you have your own private pool and its a decent size !!!!!!

great rooms, location and service

by TripAdvisor Member Keshavindia

We spent four nights at the Kajane and were 100% satisfied with our stay. All their villas have private pools and are designed with a lot of privacy. Their location, in the middle of Monkey Forest Rd. is perhaps the best spot to stay for first time visitors to Ubud. Their staff is ever plesant and maintain their true bali hospitality, not to mention their prompt shuttle service. Cannot think of anything negative and hope it remains that way, some villas are quite a walk from the main entrance but comes with a bonus of better views.

Extraordinary Value!

by TripAdvisor Member Flip711

After much research we decided on the Kajane for our 5 night stay in Ubud. It turned out to be a great choice. The service was excellent, the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and exactly like it is in the pictures on the website - there were absolutely no disappointments. We booked a package in a Beji Villa that included breakfast every day and 5 hours of spa treatments for both of us. I selected a different breakfast every day and found all of them to be very tasty and the spa treatments were great. Although there isn't really any TV (you have your choice of ESPN or CNN), they have a selection of DVDs to watch and free WiFi internet in the room. And who needs TV when your on vacation and there's so much to see? My only complaint, and this applies to all of Ubud, is there is not a decent cup of coffee to be found...anywhere. As I'm originally from Seattle, I like my coffee. And believe me the coffee everywhere in Ubud is horrible. I was like - holy smokes! Which way to Starbucks! Incidentally, we went all the way to Kuta before we saw a Starbucks. Nevertheless, I believe the Kajane to be the best over all value of any hotel I've stayed in...anywhere.

Wonderful

by TripAdvisor Member srej

First trip to Bali on family (wife, 14 and 12 year old) vacation.
We spent 4 nights in Nusa Dua (Nikko) and 6 Nights at Kajane.

As everyone else said the Kajane is pretty spectacular. Its' not easy finding accommodations for 4 in Bali but the Kajane was happy to place two extra beds in one of there Beji Villas. As described by others the Beji Villas are very roomy (even for 4) and the pool was certainly larger then I had anticipated. We’ve stayed at a lot of nice hotels but even the kids gave this place high marks.

Our Villa was near the library, fairly close to the lobby and Monkey Forrest road. I did walk around the property and agree that some of the Villas are quite far and there’s plenty of stairs. I’m not sure I would have been as happy in one of the distant villas, although for some the added privacy and larger views may be appealing.

We loved the morning breakfasts and afternoon tea. We also had dinner in out villa several times and found it to be very affordable; nothing stellar but very convenient. In fact I very much appreciated that the prices for room service and the mini bar were basically the same as a restaurant. Where everyone else seems to be trying to find a way to squeeze every last nickel out of you this was refreshing.

As the pictures show the bathroom and shower are somewhat outside. They have complete privacy but if you have a teen age daughter who doesn’t like gekkos this can create some challenges. At one point we had a bat flying around, probably trying to eat the bugs that were around the light we left on.

Two minor issues worth mentioning: I was told that if we booked 6 nights we would have “Extra feature” of free internet access, 30 minute massage, and free airport transportation. Never got the massage (no big deal) and internet is free for everyone. WIFI did not work but I didn’t really push it. Second, when I went to check out they gave me my bill in Rupiah. I had arranged the price in Dollars and was expecting to pay with my credit card in dollars. The exchange to Rupiah was at a pretty high rate and then my credit card company was going to switch back to dollars. I told them that the price I had from them was in dollars and that I needed a bill in Dollars. They immediately agreed and gave me a bill in dollars, no fuss, no questions. Worth mentioning this happened to me at every hotel I stayed at in Bali . It may simply be an accounting thing but worth looking out for.

Don’t hesitate to stay at the Kajane. We made a decision to pay a little extra and stay in town at a luxury hotel. We are really happy we did. The location is terrific, the staff are world class and the accommodations are luxurious while neat and simple.

Great place to stay; some long walks to villas

by TripAdvisor Member ab0si

As others have said, Kajane is a wonderful place to [=stay in Ubud. Each "room" is a private villa complete with pool. The bedroom is air conditioned while the rest is open to the air (pavillion-style --roof but no walls). Your villa is surrounded by a high privacy fence. Breakfast is served in your villa when you want it and they are happy to cook and deliver other meals if you wish. However, there are several very good restaurants a very short walk away including the wonderful Three Monekys. The villas are nicely decorated and supplied. I said in a "Benji" villa which is the larger of two types of single bedroom units. In fact, I stayed in two different ones. Why? well...

The units in the back have absolutely gorgeous views. They are also a long walk away and more than 50 stairs up a steep hillside. One fo the staff noticed that I was huffing and sweating after the trek and suggested that I might want to move to another unit which was closer to the office with many fewer stairs. I took her up on the offer. this was typical of the service provided. If you want something, just ask. But, in addition, they are very proactive and friendly.

Is it perfect. No, not quite. The long walks will bother some people. So, keep that in mind and ask about availability of the units closer to the office and street. They are still very quiet and VERY private with excellent views of the river that runs through the property. The walking surface is rather slippery when wet (and being Ubud in the rainy season, it was often wet). I didn't fall but I saw two guests hit the pavement. Neither of my units had fans. I would have enjoyed a fan on the verandah.

Those are minoir complaints. Unless you have major mobility problems, I highly recommend Kajane. I was there by myself. If you go there for your honeymoon be warned: the staff will sing "Happy Honeymoon to you" on your first night. It really is rather cute.

Great Villa!!!

by TripAdvisor Member Ettius

I must say that the climbing of steps to your villa can really get your heart pumping!!! We stayed in Beiji Naba. Its really deep in and we had to climb flights of stairs before we get to our Villa. However, its worth the climb! The Villa is very nice and neat. We had our candle light dinner in the villa and the bekbek was wonderful! Two thumbs up!

The staff are friendly and helpful. They drove us around Ubud and picked us up when we request for it.

We had 5hrs spa session but we thought that it was too long. So we requested for it to be spilt up and they were kind enough to allow us to spilt the session over the period of our 3-night stay. The massage is good but i must say that the manicure and pedicure is lousy.

The location is wonderful! Loads of shops and food places around.

However, note that everything is done in the villa. The spa, the food, the tea, daily breakfast, etc. My hubby finds that it is a very interested concept as there is more privacy.

All in all, I must say its a great resort/villa.
