Is there travel agency in Bali, where I can get my return flight changed if I decide to extend my trip? I buy my round trip airline tickets from Cheap Tickets in the U.S and have never had a problem in Thailand getting my flight home changed for a small fee. If there is anyone who has had the same experience in Bali, I would appreciate any information you could share.
How about contacting the airline directly? That is what I tend to do when I have to make itinerary changes. If they are flying into Bali, they obviously have a local agent.
There is some important things you should know, and that we need to know before we can advise.
Firstly, what are the current dates of your ticket? (arrival and departure)
Secondly what is your nationality (passport, not where you are living)
The reason for this information is that Indonesia offers only 7 or 30 day visa on arrival to certain nationalities, which is applied for and paid for on arrival at the airport.
There is a 60 day tourist visa but this is only available from the Indonesian Embassy nearest to where you are living, and must be applied for in advance of your arrival.
The visa on arrival is not extendable and depending on your return ticket this determines the length of the visa they issue, you cannot stay longer than the visa allows, without paying a fine and or jail sentence (depending on overstay period).
So if your return ticket is more than 7 days , but less than 30 days, after your arrival then you will be issued with the 30 day visa, if your return ticket is less than 7 days after your arrival then they will issue the 7 day visa, either way you cannot stay longer than the visa is valid for.
So please let us know your passport nationality, and the arrival and departure dates that your ticket has, then we can advise better, as to if you can actually extend if you want to.
Sorry, I got your nationality now, couldn't see it before so don't need that information any more.
From the US you qualify for the Visa on Arrival,(7 or 30 days maximum) or the 60 day tourist visa, so all we need to know is how long you are originally thinking of coming for.
Not all agents in Bali can deal with all airlines that come here, so could we also know the airline you are flying with then we can better advise the agents that might be able to help if in fact you actually can extend.
