We are planning to come 3rd week of June with kids age 8 & 10 for 3 or 4 nights. BTW, its their 1st trip to Bali, numerous times to Langkawi & Phuket & self-drive at these places.
1.Choice of Sanur Paradise Plaza, Discovery Kuta, Le Meridien. Which is ideal or any other suggestion? The kids love slides & snorkelling.
2. Should we get a guided driver or self-drive, we are not particularly into art, sight seeing to rice fields or hot spring, just more on food and relaxation,We, adults are food lovers & would definitely go to sample the "suckling pig", "dirty duck, etc & of course a little shopping would be good.
3. Is it sunshine or rainy season in June?
Please provide advise and comments! Thanks
Hi, you are travelling in peak season and should not have a problem with rain. I prefer Ubud first then Sanur, as for food The "Dirty Duck Restaurant" is in Ubud and I feel it is a little too touristy now. However the best Suckling Pig is also in Ubud - Ibu’ Oka’s: Ubud, Bali, they are famous for their suckling pig, shopping too in Ubud is great. Having said all this it may not suit you, when I am there with my 8 year old grand daughter she loves it in Ubud but also injoys shopping in Discovery in Kuta. I think 3 or 4 nights is not enough to get a good feel for the country, if you had 3 or 4 nights in Ubud and also in Kuta or Sanur then it would be better. For a trip of 3 or 4 nights check out Restaurants on Trip Advisor for which ever place you decide to stay, checking the Restaurants out for the area on Trip Advisor will help making sure you have good advise.
Discovery Kuta will be your best choice. The big waterboom park is just 50 mtr from your hotel, Your next door is Discovery Shopping Mall. The hotel located on the beach, the other two have no beach. If you want to do snorkeling you can go down to Nusa Dua. It's just 30 mnt drive. If you need car and driver just call me at +62 81236 308 321 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
