We have just returned from Bali Padma Hotel, we stayed in a The Luxe Garden Cottage. The resort is of good quality, clean and spacious room/bathroom, very relaxing environment and good food both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast with plenty of different continent styles. Staff very friendly, gardens supurb maintained, swimming pool with bar. When you are in the cottages make sure you get a room on the 2nd floor (balcony), the garden of the groundfloor cottages are a bit to close to the other guests walking by. The only negative thing we could found were the empty restaurants in the evening, dispite the good food it happened we were the only table with no other guests in the restaurant, no atmosphere at all. But dont hesitate to go to Bali Padma, this is one of the resorts to be after a visit to busy Kuta ......
From Brisbane, Australia. Just returned from Bali March 2007. We stayed at the Hotel Padma, Legion Bali for 10 days. We rate this wonderful hotel at 10/10. Brilliant. We upgraded to Garden Club, which was worth the money. We found we spent very little on food outside the hotel. Huge buffet breakfast with everything Australians would want, more excellent than Sheraton breakfasts. Then, if you are in the Garden Club, there is coffee, tea and bikkies all day but the real fun begins at 3pm. This is when the complimentary afternoon teas begin. Then at 5 pm there are Cocktails and Canapes until 7 pm. Wonderful food and wonderful drinks. The cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic are delicious. The hotel staff are great, mentioning especially the young men who served us at Breakfast, namely Hendra and Harry and another young man in the outside eating areas - all trainees - who couldn't have been more wonderful. This hotel was a haven from the chaos and fast pace of the streets in Legion and Kuta and was breathtakingly relaxing and refreshing to return to after a day out. Fantastic and friendly staff all around. Hotel room was lovely and fresh cakes and sometimes flowers were delivered to room daily. We will return as soon as we can. Thank you to all the staff at Padma for making our first trip to Bali so magic. From very appreciative Australians! (Some of the workers in hotels in Bali work for no money in order to receive training. We tipped sometimes at breakfast and they were so appreciative of this small amount of money in our terms. It means so much more to them.)
Wayan & Friends. It's located on Jalan Padma Legian, Legian. For bookings Ph.: (0361) 761024 and say Bill Sayang sent you and you are to have table 1 or 2 for the best view!
Prices are very reasonable, the aforementioned 'Steak Pappaloulou' is
Rp. 37.500 (October2001). On my last visit to Indonesia I stayed on Bali and found an incredible restaurant called Wayan & Friends. It's located on Jalan Padma Legian, Legian. The food is local as well as international, with the best steak in the whole of Asia. My favorite is 'Steak Pappaloulou' especially nice if you have been in Asia a while and are dying for a steak. Of course this is not the only food on the menu.

I spent one night in a Deluxe Chalet room at the Padma Hotel during January 2007. It was a wonderful hotel. Even though I only spent one day at the hotel I was able to experience the beautiful pool and even got to do a little surfing. The hotel is located just outside of Kuta (A 45 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi ride). The rooms are clean and simple. The bathroom is nice and includes a cool “waterfall shower”. The pool is probably the best part of the hotel. It is quite large, has a wonderful swim up bar and plenty of lounge chairs. Room service was good but a little slow. I suggest staying on the hotel grounds which are simply breath taking. I took a walk into Kuta Beach and thought I was going to get mugged or black mailed. People came up to me non-stop trying to sell me all types of crazy things and were quite pushy. Not what I expected in Bali.
Pros:Great Location just outside of Kuta
Simple yet stylish rooms
Fantastic Pool
Great landscaping
Cons:OK Beach
Mostly honeymooners and colder couples (Kind of boring)
No Internet Connections in room
Business Center only has dial up internet connections
Lots of Australians wearing Speedos
This hotel really couldn't be better. It offers everything you could possibly want. A great location, big clean room, great breakfast, fantastic pool, beach front, great bars and an exceptional staff!
We stayed in a garden club premier room which gave us access to the Garden Club house and free internet. The club had cocktail hour everyday from 5-7pm with complimentary drinks and a nice buffet (we made a dinner of the buffet one night!) The club also has a deck that looks over the beach at sunset. It doesn't get any better.
The pool was fantastic with a swim up bar and plenty of chairs and towels.
The beach is directly across from the pool and less crowded than Kuta, very few people hawking watches and jewelery. The main areas of Kuta are not far down the beach if that is what attracts you.
This hotel is in a quiet section but just outside the compound are shops for all of your souvenir needs.
The food was wonderful drinks were as well.
I never wanted to leave! We walked around and looked at about 5-10 hotels and also drove around and looked at Villas. The Padma offered absolutely everything I was looking for.
After much research on hotels in the Kuta/Lgian region my friend and I decided on the Padma, and it did not disappoint. It is a beautiful hotel, and should be rated more like a four and a half star hotel. The rooms we large, clean and had great decor.
The gardens in the hotel are beautiful, like you are in your own tropical rainforest and the pool is huge and luxurious. We stayed in a deluxe chalet, and this seems like the best option after viewing the block of standard rooms. But as the hotel was so cheap anyway for such a nice place, its easy to upgrade.
Some of the reviews of the Padma say it is quite a walking distance from the main shopping areas in kuta. But this is misleading, its is no more than a 15 min slow walk, and would not bother anyone unless they were lazy.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was brilliant, and made the holiday all the more enjoyable.
We stayed at the Padma in March 2007. We stayed at the deluxe chalets and had connecting rooms.
Pros: The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and accomodating. Big and comfortable rooms with an excellent shower facility with natural daylight. The pool was fantastic and had a swim up bar. The gardens were very green and well maintained. The ambience very laid back and relaxing. Its close enough to the Kuta area but sufficiently away. A great place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday.
Cons: A little out of the way. Roads were under renovation so walking across to the central kuta area was a little dodgy. Still cabs are plentiful and inexpensive. Cannot swim at the beach.
Wow! We stayed here for two nights after a disappointing stay at the Maharta down the road. It was fairly pricey, but for the service and the scenery it was more than worth it.
The room was lovely, a nice size, and very clean. The facilities of the hotel were fantastic, everything you could possibly need, and the staff were the friendliest bunch imaginable and couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome.
Best of all, the food was amazing. The Bella Rosa is the inhouse italian, and we went back twice as it was so nice. We also went to one of the traditional kechak dances at the hotel, which again could not have been better. I'd be tempted to go back to Bali just to stay here again!!!
The dancers were unbelievable
