Arriving in Bali in Days
Add one more to the over 6,000.000 bodies who visit Bali annually.
I'll be arriving there soon (so, dear rain, we don't need your presence too, ok!)
A. Has anyone recently been to a easy located, quieter, UBUD cheap homestay or guesthouse/hostel, without buggs, worms, clouds of mosquitos, etc you can recommend?
With airport pick up would be nice!
And for Lombok, any similar accomodation suggestion ?

Hi,
you havnt said where in Lombok you are planning to stay in.
Senginggi is quite disappointing, IME, although it will have the largest concentration of hotels/ restaurants/ night lfe.
Gili T is a lot of fun and the diving/ snorkeling is fab. There are quite a few cheapies but they tend to fill up quickly.
My fav spot in Lombok is Kuta, in the South. Broad sandy white beaches, cheap hotels and some great places to eat place Kuta on the cusp of mass tourism. Enjoy it before it goes the way of its more famous namesake in Bali.

I'm now in Ubud and for anyone reading interested in this post.
There are many many homestays off Jalan Hanoman and the Jalan of the Post Office. Bargain and you can have a nice room for 80 or 100 thousand rupiah, 9 or 11US with hot shower and fan. I stayed at Agungoka and also at Indra. A good meal in Bali rest is 1.50 US and in a touristy resto is $3. Be warned that Ubud is like the capital of new age.
Balinese are extremely friendly and Bali's small villages/countryside is quite nice and one rarely sees turists there. I'm off to the Gilis.
