From what I have been reading online, the immigration dept. fingerprints all tourists entering Denpassar airport (all ten fingers with ink) and there are chaotic lines with a min of 1 hour the clear immigration.
Can anyone who has been through Bali recently comment?
I am just back (5 day's ago) from 15 days in Bali, this time I used a business who get's you through in 20 - 30 mins at a cost of $30aus, when you arrive in at midnight (flight delayed by 1 hour) and have an 8 year old with you I thought this would save a lot of queueing as she would be tired. You still have to do everything but it is done for you and quickly and you don't pay till you are through, well you do give them the money when you meet them for your visa as you get off the plane, but don't pay the fee for the service till you are out. I have never been finger printed and have been 3 times in the last 2 years, if on this trip we had to be fingerprinted it would still have to had been done but no we didn't have it done. We were most impressed, you can also use it when you are leaving but we didn't.
So from experience yes the 1.30 hrs queueing are correct buy have never experienced or heard of the finger printing.
Saw it on 2 forums including trip advisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g294226-i7220-k3592118-o30-Denpasar_airport_a_total_mess_with_new_procedures-Bali.html
As I said I was not fingerprinted nor anyone else I talked to and it seemed no different to any other time I have been since the Bombings. Yes you don't just waltz through and be prepared but try the service I used they were great.
You have read the first couple of posts on that site you quote and then have not even bothered to scroll down through the 14 windows and read post 37 where it is mentioned that procedure was stopped.
""37. Re: Denpasar airport - a total mess with new procedures

The fingerprinting and photo proceedures were stopped months ago due to the problems. Don't worry about it. In fact, this whole thread should be put out to pasture.""
Read the lot and also read a similar thing on another forum that stated it was still going. Hence the question here.
What was the other forum? I would be interested to know. Pamela
I just came back from Bali couple of weeks ago and they were not doing fingerprinting for anyone on Visa on Arrival line. I don't think they are fingerprinting at Denpasar airport, but I heard they had that procedure earlier and later stopped due to the wait time and backups.
Splendid. Good to know
I came in July and got fingerprinted, waited 2 hours.
I came back in September, no finerprint anymore... That's Bali.
