Travel/hotel advice sought for crazy family traveling to Indonesia in July
We are a family of four (adult children) who are traveling to Indonesia in July: specfically -- Ubud, Sengiggi and Yogyakarta....we would like advice/suggetions on where to stay: we don't require fancy/expensive and prefer native-type places but we do need AIR CONDITIONING for my very hairy husband....please let me know so we can avoid tourist traps. Restaurant advice and specifically how many planes are there from Bali to Lombok daily would help.

Other questions: does a motorbike adventure make sense in Sengigg?
getting a guided bike tour in Ubud?

I have only stayed in the centre of Ubud and would recomend Ubud Village Hotel or Cedanna Hotel which are located in Monkey Forest Road, the main strip in Ubud, neither are too expensive but good. There are plenty of hotels just outside of ubud and you are best googling Ubud accom for bigger variety. For a bike ride try Bali Baik and I would also suggest that you spend some time walking around the outskirts of Ubud, your hotel will have some maps that you can use. For restaurant advice I would try Kafe, Lemak, Lotus Cafe and my favourite Bebek Bengal (Dirty Duck).

Maybe if you can give us the rate, make us easier to advised
Beside Senggigi (Lombok), some people also choose to stay at Gili Trawangan
From Denpasar (Bali) you can take Merpati Airlines

Museum: Neka, ARMA and Blanco - all should be seen and all are great.
Restaurants: Cinta on Monkey Forrest Road - great Mojito's and ribs.
Cafe Des Artistes on Bisma.. Also Roda Internet is there and it is the best price and best computers. Some great art places on the same street.
Cafe Lotus - is a must - best view in Ubud, near Temple/ Also a walk thru the rice fields - path is not far from Cafe Lotus. john
