Hi,
I'll be heading to Bali later this month and am wondering what is a realistic taxi fare from the airport to Tanjung Benoa is so I don't get ripped off.

There are fixed prices of taxi from the airport to areas in Bali. They are quite expensive but we have no other choices. You just walk to the left after the exit door, and there is a counter for taxi there.
Except if you'd like to walk out of the airport area and catch a bus. Or rent a car and ask them to pick you up at the airport.
Previous poster is correct, from inside the airport you cannot get other taxi's than the airport taxi's, which are fixed price, to Tanjung Benoa with them, (depending on the time of day you arrive) would be around 80,000 rupiah, excluding tip. You pay the price at the counter, and the driver then picks you up,
If you don't have a lot of luggage then to get a taxi from off thye street outside the airport, (about a ten min walk, would cost around 50,000 rupiah Make sure you have enough small money to pay close to the amount as they often try to say they don't have change.
Check with the hotel some of them have a free pick up service.
When you leave customs, go to the right to the taxi office. The price is fixed. You will get a ticket and taxi will take you to destination. Fixed price - on board in front of you - controlled . Blue bird taxi only on street. Be aware of copy - similar but not the same. Book a taxi and keep them with you on long days - just ask them to put on meter and wait for you.
I walked out of the airport (1 minute walk, small airport) and hailed a taxi that used a meter.
The fixed prices of the airport taxis and other taxi companies is a joke and a disgrace. The metered fare was half of the 'lowest price I can give you' after I played with them and haggled them down.
Blue Bird taxi are always metered and most reputable that I have found. (also the same conclusion of Lonely Planet)
