Travel Tips for Bandung

MEMORIES OF OLD BANDUNG

by ancient_traveler

In the late 18th and early 19th century, as locals called it the bandoeng tempo doeloe (old Bandung) era, there were many buildings built with an art-deco style. The city that had served as a weekend resort for European rich men has made these type of buildings possible. Unfortunately the city administration has a tendency to create a modern look of the city with suspension bridge, banks, malls and commercial areas, instead of preserving old historical buildings.

Dining in the open air garden by the pools

by xty about Atmosphere resort cafe

This restaurant and cafe is located in the bustling city center but it has great modern design and interior with open air lush garden and fish pools. There are several huts where you can have your meals by the fish pools. Or alternatively in the open air terrace/deck at second floor. In the evening and night, it's even more beautiful and romantic with the lights.

At weekends, the place is often packed with people having dinner. You may need to reserve first. Choices of Indonesian and International foods, including steak, beer, and wine.
