"First Time in Cirebon"
Well, this is my first time stepping my feet in Cirebon. Usually I just pass by this city on my way from hometown to Jakarta. But this time, this is my destination. It takes about 3 hours by trains from Jakarta.
Almost every trains heading and leaving Jakarta will stop in Cirebon station for a few minutes, but if you want the train dedicated from Cirebon-Jakarta and vice-versa, take Cirebon Express or Cirebon Express Utama.
"Cheated by becak"
Once I exited from the station, there are a lot of becaks waiting outside the station. You don't need to come to them, they'll come to you :P. Normally they'll ask where you wanna go.
Once you tell them your destination, they'll know whether you're from Cirebon or not. If you're not from Cirebon, they'll jump the becak cost by at least 2-3x. So you must must must bargain at least half of the cost.
When I came there, I only know the hotel name, but I don't know where and how far it is from the train station. So when they're asking me 15,000 rupiahs (USD 1,5), I just bargain to 10,000 rupiahs (USD 1) which end up at 13,000 rupiahs.
Well I thought I've made good bargain, but when I reached my hotel and ask the concierge about the cost, they said I was cheated. It was supposed to be at most 6-7,000 rupiahs (less than USD 1).
