HOTEL KAPUAS DHARMA: SLEEP WITH SMALL ANIMALS

When i go in the room,it smells.
I request to change a room, the next room is the same.
With stink carpet and many holes burns. It is too much for a Rp.200.000,- rooms with no breakfast.
The next day i wake up,
i have cockraches and other animals in my body.

I did not even take a shower and check out.
I go direct to a local spa to take a massage and spa.and off course to clean myself

There is KTV and disco near the hotel.
You can just go down for the hotel with karaoke girl to accompany you at Rp.35.000,- per hour plus tips.
Karaoke rooms is at Rp.35.000,- per hour.

Ateng House: Cheap Accomodation

Yeah, i'd say it's a cheap accomodation for backpackers / light travellers. Single bedroom costs Rp 89 000 (about 9 US$), and double bedroom costs Rp 99 000 (about 10 US$). it has air conditioner, small tv with all the local channels, table and chair, and private bathroom. just like a regular hotel, only the size is much smaller. It was just opened a while ago, so everything is still clean and new.

Located right downtown at Jalan GajahMada, one of the busiest streets, makes it easier to find food and experience the local living.

There's a travel agency "Ateng Tour" next door (or rather, the lower level of this building), which makes everything so much more convenient. Bookings can be made here, as well as buying ticket (bus, ferry, plane, etc). They provide tours and car rental, with English speaking staff. There's also "wartel", which consists of telephone booths for people to make long distance call. The agency office normally open as early as 7.30 am up to 11.30 pm or 12 midnight.

Grand Kartika Hotel: Only plus the river view

We stayed our first two nights in Pontianak at this hotel as it was recommended by a friend for its location: bordering Kapuas River next to the alun-alun with night market. One can have one's breakfast on a terrace while while watching the ships pass by.
Unfortunately the buffet breakfast itself was poor, insipid. And our room (standard room for Rp 279,000 promo rate - November 2014) could do with a facelift.
